That tablets would pop up all over CES 2011 like daisies in the spring was no surprise to anyone aware of the iPad. The tablet market is expected to reach 50 million units this year, and virtually every major electronics/computer brand has at least one to vye for a piece of the pie. Industry giant Asus has three and possibly the most compelling of them for the "serious" computer user who wants one is the Eee Slate EP121-1A010M 12.1-Inch Tablet PC. As of yesterday, it was the most highly viewed computer accessory product in Amazon's catalog over the past few days.
The Eee Slate EP121 has Windows 7 Home Premium, Core i5 dual core, 1280 x 800 12.1 LED-backlit display and a wide 178° viewing angle, 32GB or 64GB of SSD storage (expandable via SDXC), and up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM. All models have 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 2-megapixel camera, plus two USB 2.0 ports that provide full support for a wide range of standard PC peripherals, along with a mini-HDMI port. * Discuss this news in the SPCR forums. *
