Two Scythe coolers have been reviewed by SilentPCReview in the past, the Alpha-like Kamakaze and the very unique Heatlane Zen fanless heatsink. Both were high quality coolers and well-received by SilentPCReview. Scythe's newest cooler is the Samurai SCSM-1000.

The Samurai is designed like the Kamakaze to be a cross-platform heatsink. The Samurai fan is mounted so that it is blowing air away from the processor, like the well-known Alpha coolers. It differs from the Kamakaze in that it uses 42 thin copper fins as opposed to the round aluminum pins on the earlier cooler. But both coolers use the same model fan, have an aluminum shroud covering the cooling fins and are purpose designed to work on multiple platforms. However, the Samurai retails for about 25% less than the Kamakaze.
