The mounting clip cleared our motherboard's northbridge heatsink easily.

One bent capacitor. Once installed, the heatsink was quite loose. It could be
swivelled about pretty easily, but was prevented from being rotated more
than a few degrees by the octagonal corners of the frame. One of these corners
also bent one of the capacitors on the board slightly.

Installed with the fan turned on. The orientation pictured above made the most sense on our socket 775 board,
as the metal clip cleared the northbridge and the fan controller was pointing
toward the front. The mounting position can be rotated by 90
degrees to take into account the overhang from either protrusion.
AMD systems have only two orientation choices since their mounting holes
are not symmetrical.
