The mounting clip cleared our motherboard's northbridge heatsink easily.

One bent capacitor. Once installed, the heatsink was quite loose. It could be swivelled about pretty easily, but was prevented from being rotated more than a few degrees by the octagonal corners of the frame. One of these corners also bent one of the capacitors on the board slightly.

Installed with the fan turned on. The orientation pictured above made the most sense on our socket 775 board, as the metal clip cleared the northbridge and the fan controller was pointing toward the front. The mounting position can be rotated by 90 degrees to take into account the overhang from either protrusion. AMD systems have only two orientation choices since their mounting holes are not symmetrical.
