The Lenovo Q100 uses slightly more power than the recently reviewed Intel D945GSEJT Atom board using the power supply included with the Morex T1610 case. The Eee 1005HA is the ultimate green PC consuming 3-4W less, even though it has to power extra components like a LCD screen, card reader, webcam and Bluetooth module. These differences in power consumption are only large in relative terms though — a few watts is barely worth mentioning when it comes to nettops where battery life isn't an issue.

Grey boxes: flawed but watchable
Red boxes: unwatchable, failure

The Q100 played the 720p Dark Knight H.264 trailer played without issue, but ran into difficulty when it came to the more stressful clips in our test suite. The 1080p Rush Hour 3 trailer was watchable but dropped frames in the more action-heavy sequences. The Coral Reef WMV-HD clip was out-of-sync for the entire duration of playback, the audio popped in and out, and the video paused frequently. Without hardware acceleration for H.264/VC-1, video playback was similar to other Atom PCs we've used in the past — in this regard, the SiS Mirage 3 graphics engine has no advantage over the Intel GMA 950.

3DMark Results

When it comes to 3D performance, GMA 950 seems to be slightly faster, scoring 48 points higher than Mirage 3. Like our power consumption results, the difference is meaningless — they're both extremely poor for gaming.
