Won't buy any corsair product with a mail-in rebate anymore - been burned too many times. Not suggesting corsair engineering isn't good, just that corsair marketing sucks. Their rebate program is handled by a third party service, just let Corsair know your problem, they might not be aware of the qu...

well i just checked, and my new Corsair TX650W have a squealing at cold boot because of the coils i think, as the components warm up inside, they dilatate and the PSU get quiet gradually. Seem like it's "coil whine" as some of you told me before. is the type of noise i have on my PSU is dangerous? ...

Availability of a product is also important ! Seasonic has been on the market for PSU for quite awhile and I can't find one retailer that is close to me, not many people are as crazy as members here to buy online and pay for shipping on top of paying over $100 for a PSU most think I am nuts, while C...

Quality: Corsair vs Seasonic
The term quality here means build quality, performance, customer delightment and better value for the money overall. After doing an extensive search and comparision, I would have to say Corsair offers better quality for the same or even less. Corsair Pros: 1. Higher wattage than Seasonic's offerring...

Corsair PSU Rebate
Just wanted to let everyone know that Corsair is offering a $20-$25 rebate on all its PSUs. Offer ends 31 July 2008 and you have a month to send in the application. Your invoice dated must be dated 31 July or earlier. Some merchants will have their own forms, but a majority do not and the customer i...

I would also resolder all the joints that were sheared off since fractures and cracks can result from it. We tried to, but unfortunately they are too big for my little 25W iron :( ... Some of those sheared joints are bone dry, so I may use it as an excuse finally to invest in a proper iron. It is n...

3Y Power Technolgy ?
Anyone heard or used or taken apart this brand of PSU ? My Antec Phantom 350 failed and I was in need of a temporary PSU before I can find a Seasonic unit locally. I stopped by my local used computer joint with a 100 used PSUs thrown into the bin, I grabbed the most heavy one I could find and it was...

That is some sloppy workmanship standards, it does even look like Class 1 IPC-A-610 standards since computer equipment is suppose to be Class 2 ! I would also resolder all the joints that were sheared off since fractures and cracks can result from it. IPC-A-610 states for Class 2 all sheared off joi...

I have a KingWin ST-424S which is very simialr to the Lian-Li. Nice case, but alot of resonance from the sheet metal. Slowy, but surely I am removing and adressing each sound day by day or month by month. I used something very similar to the ultra expensive dampening mats, but it only costed me $2 t...

What was that foam called? I need something to tighten up the tolerances in my new C5. It's a bit rattle-y. Being in the foam business before, this stuff is proberly a closed cell high density polyurethane foam. Its proberly not good for acoustic dampening, but great for limiting and absorbing vibr...

What Can You Do With $1.00 !
I was able to find some 1/8" X 9" X 12" high density foam from a local Dollarama for 3 sheets for $1.00cdn(@$0.84us) and to boot it even has self adhesive backing. There was several colors to choose from; yellow, purple, red, white, light blue, navy blue, but I went with the traditional black instea...

I have determine that the symptoms are a results of overheating of the GPU. It sounds likely that one of three things is going on: 1) your card is overheating, try some high airflow and see if the problem still show up (i.e. point a desk fan into your case). Using thermal adhesive to attach the heatsink really isn't ideal because it leaves the heatsink hanging off the GPU....

Best Fanless Videocard
I think my 3 year old Crucial ATI 9100 is dying, I'am seeing pixelated green lines start to form on my screen when it gets too hot. The original fan was removed and a heatsink was attached onto it for 9 months now and its starting to act up now, so what is the fastest non fanned card out there ?

Ok, the serial # on my unit is the newest one we know of so far I think. My new unit is D05015525445 which is a big jump from the old #. The stamps are different too. The old one had the testing stamps in blue and saying B01 etc. The new unit uses purple ink for the stamps, and is stamped I01, etc....
