Also the AbitAV8 has the OCGuru which allows you to over (or under) clock as the machine is running. Are you SURE it allows "under"clocking? as mine sure doesn't - only overclock Nope not sure it does. "default" settings for me are FSB of 204Mhz so I can slow that to 200MHz and reduce all the volta...

Nice setup.

I've got an AV8 at the moment and am getting tempratures of 49C when idling/surfing. Was wonering what tempratures you get with this setup
I'm thinking my temprature readings are innaccurate as this has been reported as a problem with the Av8

The only question I can think to ask at this point is why would you turn it off? It was off by default so I have yet to turn it on. Also the AbitAV8 has the OCGuru which allows you to over (or under) clock as the machine is running. So you can give extra juice to those applications that need it. I'...

The TAC is only "needed" for really hot processors. Wth an A64 you should be able to get sufficient cooling without it. okay time to get the screw driver out and get some nice clear tape for the holes. My current tempratures is 39 for cpu idling and 43 when I'm surfing and stuff. I'm still trying t...

Antec 3000B: TAC and Athlon64

I got myself an Antec 300B case and with it comes the air guide in the side panel. This is a telescopic guide that is supposed to be placed over the cpu so that thehas outside air for cooling. The problem is that for Athlon64 motherboards (or at least my Abit AV8) the telescopic thing only lies over...

Thats the same setup as I went for over a month ago now and I still havent got it all put together. The combination of Case and PSU seem a good one to me and a reasonable price. Regarding the case, a manual may be helpful for some people. Most of the screws are obvious but not all of them are. Also ...

I think the interior of the cavalier is fine and it has a good exhaust fan.

The real dilemma to choose is will the airflow in the cavalier be good enough. Thats what I'm not sure about

Coolermaster Cavalier 3 Case - Your Thoughts

Here in the UK the coolermaster cavalier 3 case has become cheaper at komplett.co.uk < 40 pounds. Does anyone have any experience with it? my impressions are that it looks nice if thats important to you. it has a 120mm rear fan and a 80 mm front fan. However the front fan intake is from below the fr...

alex, recieved my case today. the hard drives go anywhere in the bottom most cage. there are rubber grommets in the cage. in your bag of screws you should have some with a large ish head, smooth body then some threads. use these screws to screw the harddrive in place. might take a bit of fiddling to...

Hello Alex, The DVD drive should stick out about 1.5", so that the front bezel is flush to the front of the case, so I would look for the threaded holes that position the rails so that this happens. Remind us what case you have? iirc its the antec 3000b alex, i dont think the harddrive require rail...

if it fits your needs why not?

if you can get one of the seasonics then get them instead, or consider an enermax noisetaker (there is a 320w version)

I would still think its a good choice though

I am about to purchase a new psu for a friend who only has a £45 budget tops, It has to be as quite as possible, unfortunatly i cannot find a review for the fortron source model here http://www.fsp-group.com.tw/russia/02_products/01_pc_power_supply.asp?modelid=90&modelname=FSP400-60PN&factorname=AT...

alexander, I understand your liking for bundles but I think getting and fitting a seperate psu isn't such a big deal but up to you. As far as i can tell the hdd orientation is back to 'normal' with the 3000b, which results in better overall case airflow. 3000b also has a trispeed fan meaning you can...

It was the quietness rating from SPCR that was leaning me towards the enermax even though its slightly more expensive than the fortron. I think as long as its the dual rail then I don't really have the concerns any more. Its the single rail of the nexus that I think might be pushed a wee bit too clo...

I believe it's the other way round. 12V2 for the CPU and 12V1 for the rest. thanks. i figured since only the cpu was one one rail it would be lower Amperage than al...

Well, I just found the following in this thread: http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=3075 The AC reading indicates that under stress (prime95), the PSU still only needs to deliver about 120W! I would think a decent 300W PSU would easily be enough for your rig. thanks for that. I'de rea...
