It fits perfectly in TT Tsunami. If you can use it without a fan depends if you have good airflow in your case (and then it's not really fanless). But you can use a zalman fanmate or speedfan (software) to reduce the fan speed so it's virtually silent. I have that case and Ninja and a X2 4400+ and t...

I just cut the wires from the VF700 fan and the original fan and twisted them together (with some isolation around). Took a minute or two.

I have VF700 on my X800XL. Fan connected to the graphics card. I'm using ATITool to tempcontrol the fan. It works great! I can't see the fan speed, but in idle I'm running it at slowest setting possible to make it spin. Sounds just a little bit more than my two Nexus at 700rpm. It has a more annoyin...

How much of the computer can be recycled? There are a lot of problems regarding green computers that would...

Ok, the Condor can't cool a 1900XTX passive. The big question is what is the fastest card it can cool passive. It should be way better than the VF900 passive, right?

miTchy: Great link! Some serious graphics cooling there! Seems many pepole are using Zalman 7000ALCU with some cutting. Simple and easy to mount. Think I'll try that! EndoSteel: Really good work there! However I'll try to keep the cooling inside the case. What cooling performance do you achieve with...

Large heatsink for GPU?

My pump has died twice so I'm converting to air cooling. I've ordered a Ninja, Zalman passive NB heatsink and a VF700. I think the fan on the VF700 will be my loudest compont so I'm thinking about mounting a really large heatsink on my GPU and directing the air out through the open card slots on the...

I don't think it's a good idea to have 100% grilled back. Better to have the intake only behind cpu and gpu to direct more airflow over these hot components. Except for that, it looks great! Like the fans in middle of case. Good idea to use some kind of HD enclosure. You should also soft mount the d...

HD unplugged? You mean the IDE connector on the drive-a-way? There is a sata connector to the left. Not visible because of tubing.

Regarding sound barrier I can just say that I'm very happy with performance. Love the X2.

Is the fan in the middle? Should be 120mm. 1800rpm is definately not silent. Especially not when blowing/sucking on those fins (turbulence). Guess it's ok underrpmed though.

That WD800 isn´t silent at all. Have listened to it. Right now i'm using a WD300 in a nexus drive-a-way. It's lying on foam in the bottom front of my tower. Have no fan there but a nexus case fan att 680rpm (my only fan) makes a little airflow over the drive. Idles at 43 and max about 48 when downlo...

Well, overheating is an issue. But using speedfan and a slow fan (quieter than the hd) should solve that problem if the enclosure transmits the heat from the HD to the enclosure itself.

The HD is a WD3000JD. Only six months old. I'm pretty sure it's FDB. It sounds almost like a slow fan so idle "whine" may be an exaggeration. However, I want it quiter. The seek noise is great thougu, almost unhearable a few feet away (on foam). http://www.westerndigital.com/en/products/Products.asp...

Best way to reduce idle whine?

Hi! What's the best way to reduce idle whine on 3,5"-disks? Now I'm using suspension but it seems only to reduce vibrations. How good are enclosures (suspended) at reducing idle whine? Do they amplify seek noise? I could stand a small increase in seek noise if the idle whine decreased. I kind of lik...

What motherboard to watercool?

Hi! I'll soon buy a new computer. The only part I havn't decided yet is the motherboard. I'll buy a reserator to cool my cpu, gpu, nb and possibly the HD. However I find it hard to find what motherboards I can mount the zalman GPU watercooler on. I'm going for a nForce4 (Ultra or SLI) or a VIA K8T89...
