I think you will find that you will not even need a HD fan with this case. Under load my Maxtor 7200 rpm runs 30° to 32° with no fan. With a fan abou 22° I also wanted a smaller fan and have a 92 mm panaflow "L" at 5 volts. You can mount smaller fans by using 7/16 by 3/16 grommets which will fit the...

Re: Threads stripped on the PCI cage
After remove and replacing a PCI card a number of times, I stripped out the threads in the PCI cage for the screws holding the PCI cards in. I would like to glue a nut to the back side of the cage. Does anyone know what the size and thread count is? Where can I get a nut to fit (Plan to glue it in ...

I have not found the lower side vent to add any additional noise, and it seems to keep the case a little cooler so I left it open. The upper cpu vent does increase noise, but this can be minimized by cutting about 1/2 inch off the duct with a razor blade knife, removing the horn flange, and lining p...

I also noticed more hard drive vibration in the front of the 3000b case than my cheap older case that had a single unit, non-removal drive cage for all the drives. A buzz was coming from the lower front corner of the right side panel as it stopped when I pressed in on it. I took the panel off and be...

120 mm Tri-Cool replacement?
I was looking for a quiter fan than the Antec Tri-Cool, but that moved more air than the Nexus or Yates Loon look alike. Max of 60 CFM. Based on manufacture specs of 55 cfm at 26 dBh, the Papst 4412FGL looked like the best bet. I was disappointed; have others had a similar experience or found a quit...

I have a Panaflo 92mm in the front, and Antec Tricool 120 on the back. The front fan does not seem to make much difference in cpu or motherboard temps. It does for the hard drive, however. The max temp I have had on the HD without a front fan was 39 deg C. With the Tricool on Low, the HD temp drops ...
