Well, according to this:

I shouldn't have any problem, yet I have it.

Gigabyte 7900GT (with VF700) and fan control
I'm finding default fan at default speed to be unacceptably loud, and I'm having trouble with changing it's rotation speed. The only program that I found that would allow for some decent slider-like control is RivaTuner (2.0 RC16) but its fan control settings does not seem to change anything with re...

Silencing my system: good ideas?
Hello, my 2 months' old system is: Antec Sonata (back fan changed to Akasa Amber 120mm @5V) PSU: Topower P6 526 (it's rather quiet) AMD64 3000+ (@2.55Ghz) cooled by Thermaltake Big Typhoon (always in quiet mode) DFI NF4-Ultra chipset cooling swapped to passive - NB47J Which resulted in ~68C on the c...

"qualia: wrong. 3700+ have 1 mb cache while the 3000/3200+ got 512k..." I didn't say that overclocking will give him more cache. I was merely stating that in my opinion it's much more cost-effective to buy cheaper venice, like 3000+ and overclock it so that it yields similar performance as 3700+/1MB...

24-pin power cable (the one that you connect to motherboard) is one of ATX2.0 PSU requirements. 'Native' because for each 20-pin (old standard) you can buy a 20-to-24 pin converter, which would make it 'not native'. I did not really think that it would not run on 20-pin with a converter, but I had t...

If you have a look at DFI-oriented forum: http://www.dfi-street.com you'll quickly discover that they strongly recommend much more beefier PSU for this board/CPU, namely 480Watt. Considering that overkill since individual power draw will always be different depending on your configuration (gpu(s)/no...

Obsessive silencing?
1. Bought Antec Sonata. 2. Replaced Asus9600XT noisy fan with Arctic Cooling Silencer rev3. 3. Fan-swapped Sonata PSU with Panaflo 80mm 4. Exchanged stock rear case fan with Akasa Amber 120mm 5. PSU exchanged for Tagan 330, dubious improvement 6. Considering fan-swapping Zalman 7000AlCu for 92mm Fan...

I finally got round to take care of the dust. Before I did that temps were up to 54C during full load. I cleaned the fins of the heatsink and I washed intake dust filter. Temperatures are 48C during full load now. I'm actually a bit surprised that some dust makes for that much a difference. Not that...

CPU temps up over time
Hi,
When I installed Zalman7000AlCu on my 2.1Gh Barton (low noise mode), my temp under load was 49C. Then gradually as weeks passed it became first 50, then 51, 52 and now it's 53. What could be the main cause? Degradation of thermal paste? Dust on the fins? Heatsink loose?
--
thanks

I did it a test and let it run under load (united devices agent) for a few hours. Exhaust off / on CPU: 57C / 47C MB: 46C / 36C HDD: 53C / 44C I consider it a big difference, though I also consider those higher temps to be on the safe side (before I switched to Zalman 7000AlCu I was running some old...

Any real-world bad experiences? I understand the theory, but I'll say this: I've dealth with some number of computers and I can assure you that many did not have any rear-exhuast-fan mounted and I did not hear about any of those systems going down. Before I swapped fan on my PSU I did this myself (S...

Actually I went ahead and bought a japanese version Panaflo L1BX, and installed it. Process did not go as smoothly as I'd wished, but ultimatelly my computer is back online. I don't have any advanced instrumentalia, but overall I'm satisfied with the results. Right now the noisest component is 120mm...

Supposing I'm willing to cast my warranty aside. Would it be okay to replace stock fan with Arctic Fan Pro TC from Recommended list (as it just happens I have one around), as it comes with a thermal sensor of its own and I'm not sure if I would not get some funny results connecting it to Sonata's PS...

With Panablo? In the experience of those who have this experience, is it worth voiding a warranty?

Sonata PSU rpm results
Hello all, I'm new. I bought Sonata recently in the higher goal of bringing silence to my bedroom. Noisemakers: Barton 2500+ @ 2Ghz / Zalman7000AlCu (low) Asus9600XT / Arctic VGA Silencer rev3 (stock was noisy as hell, and fan monitoring/control on my Asus was evidently damaged) Stock rear-fan Antec...
