During long gameplay my temps jump up to around 75-80. Is that a good temp? Those temps are somewhat high but it is nowhere near dangerous. Some people have gone up to 80-100 degrees. I wouldn't risk it though. My vf700 running at 5v idles at 38 degree and hovers aroun 65 degrees during full load. ...

I would take Fan3 out from the bottom chamber. Your psu can stay relatively cool. With the extra fan, you can place it in front of the upper harddrive cage runing at low speed if you want. The other two fans looks fine. But if you want it to be more quiet, then you can use just use one of them. I ch...

Dragontales: How did you mount that fan? I can't tell from the pic. It looks like it's mounted to the NB47J. kad Hey Kad, I just did it ghetto style. But hey, it works. So what I did was find a long screw and screwed it right into the nb47j. It works quite well and it screwed on pretty tightly. Tha...

I guess I shall add to this discussion. I have the Zalman NB47J on my Asus A8N-E. This is a new system that I just built two weeks ago. I do not have a device to measure the temp on my heatsink so I am only going by hand touch. My system is usually on 24hrs a day and I would occasionally get in the ...

Cool!!! HAVE FUN! Also, let me know if that Zalman fits... if it does I might have a new video card in my future... :) I am about 95% done. I just need to organize all the sloppy cables then my project is complete. So far everything is running smoothly. The only slight bump was that I was having tr...

Thanks for the quick response. Thanks for that website as well. I guess I will have a new plan now. I will go ahead and buy those cable extensions. Then I will test out that Antec Smartpower with those extensions before I do the return. If I am satisfy with the noise level, then I shall keep the Ant...

Thetoad30, I think the 380w is pretty good within my price range. I really believe in quality over quantity. I would never buy anything generic. I did buy some generic parts when I was a poooor youngster though. The price for the 380 is around $70 now and the 430w is like $90. I feel that the extra ...

The smartpower 2.0 is not loud by any standard. Too bad you didn't get a chance to try it out. I have the 500w version but I assume the 400w version would be about the same except for the modular cables. I built a computer for a friend last month with an Antec case that came with an Antec Smartpowe...

Re: nice
Nice... very good selection of CPU and parts! I have the same 3200+ CPU running at 2.7GHz. However, it looks like your video card and PSU will not be quiet. The Antec Smartpower is pretty loud, and although the Seasonic is much quieter, Seasonic is also pretty loud. I would recommend a fanless like...

I also would say that the Seasonic is not even close to loud. Its virtually silent even outside any case with just a PSU tester on it, or at least it was in my house. I know the ATX12V cable on my Seasonic needed more cable. I'm using the ASUS P5AD2-E Premium but I don't think your ATX12V is locate...

The project has just hit a bump on the road. The antec smartpower atx connector cannot reach my mobo at the top right corner. :( Why did antec make these new Smartpower 2 that is not compatiable with their Antec P180 case? It doesn't make too much sense. Oh wells, it's also my fault for not making s...

Dragon, please resize your pics to comply with the Posting Guidelines. Either make them smaller (640x), link them as url's, or do both, and just put up thumbnails for people to click on to get to the big versions. There's no reason to have 1024x768 images of the boxes your parts came in...we all wh...

Hi, you may want to try adding a 56K warning to the thread title. Your pictures are quite big and will hold up users not on a high speed connection. Alternatively you can change all the images to links. Their size messes up the page format anyway. Good luck with your build! Hi, Sorry, I've changed ...

I know its too late, but you might want to consider the S12 line from Seasonic the next time you are looking for a PSU. Its ULTRA silent in my P180 and I just love the thing. Also, why did you go with the XP-90C? I would have thought an XP-120 or Scythe Ninja would have been better, but perhaps I'm...

wow! This thing looks like it costs an arm and a leg to build. Good stuff man. Very very jealous    I'm not too sure what the final cost will be. I bought my components in a span of like 1 month. But I managed to get some decents deals. The asus mobo and a64 cost me $250 from t...
