Re: Tapping into the Reservoir
For ease of filling and accessibility, I'm designing my basic WC setup to have the Reservoir at the highest point in the loop. Now what i'm curious about is this: due to the weight of approximately 1L of water sitting in the Reservior, am I better off tapping the "reservior-in" line at the bottom o...

I dunno whether the extra pumping capacity of the 1048 makes any difference to temperatures to be honest (I haven't noticed any difference, but then I haven't paid very close attention to my temps). I went with the 1048 more for reasons that it's an inline pump, it's pretty well regarded here on th...

Replacement pumps, I've tried the Eheim Compact 300 twice (which is what the Res comes installed with), an Eheim Compact 600 (the bigger brother or the 300, which is too noisy) and a Sicce Micra. I've since gone external with an Eheim 1048 mounted inside my case, and this is where I currently stand...

I have blocked the hole at the top with some tape. And made the pump external, check my signature for info. Its a bit outdated for specs, but you get the general idea. IIRC, most users that have had problems with the stock pump has not used any additive in the water, my guess is that distilled wate...

So it sounds to me that the right thing to do is to get a better pump that is also quiet so we can cool the hard drive, CPU & GPU. But if the pump is weak, why does the new 1+, which uses the same pump, said it can cool power supply, GPU, CPU at the same time? I thought Koollance is good, http://www...

On the topic of using the Reserator for HDD cooling... the Reserator works fine for me cooling CPU+GPU+NB... but when I had my HDDs in the loop, at max load, the water "cooling" was actually acting as a water heater, making my HDDs hotter. I think there were a few basic problems: 1) Load temps that...

Slaugh, thanks for the info. ========= Brian, I already have 2 of those APC surge station 8, but I connect all my computer outlet to yet another APC Smart UPS, which is always on. (You can't connect surge station to UPS) So when I turn on my computer, I always like to turn on the zalman as well, whi...

w/ water cooling GPU, I thought the bigger is better, so have a look at the above link.
I just can't see how can that little vga water block can do the job compares to the above
scroll down a bit and you can see the aqua 6800 water block

I never Over clock, I do it just for the silence. Someone from England give me this reply: He is saying the invertion of the 300 causes all these, if so, even w/ anti-corrosive coolent on the new 1 Plus, the reservator is still screwed. Anyhow, you said you have been thru the 600. What happen, why d...

It's made in Italy I think. A few others on this board have tried one. Here's a link to their UK web-page: http://www.sicce.co.uk/micra.htm The problem w/ most Italian product is their 1 yr. warranty. However, Italian made product should be very good. It will fit internally, though you have to remo...

It seems that people who dont use any additive, just plain distilled water, have problems with their pumps. Im guessing the pump needs something else in the water to lubricate it, with distilled water its too dry and wears out fast.. Mine is still going strong after 6 months odf 24/7 running.. Belo...

I haven't vented at Zalman directly, in all honesty I think that this site is more useful. I've been through four pumps now (2 x Eheim 300, 1 x Eheim 600, 1 x Sicce Micra), they've all exhibited the same problem. I'm beginning to wonder if it's something I'm doing wrong! I am not versed in "Sicce M...

I really need to spec. out a pump that fits in the inside of Zalman, but won't make that noise. Price is not an issue.
A good quality pump w/ same tubing size and quiet. How hard can it be?

What would be a equvialent replacement of Eheim compact pump powerhead 300? Eheim Compact 300: * Pump Output: 80 gph * Max Head: 1.6 ft * Dimensions: 2.0" x 1.4" x 2.2" * 3-year manufacturer`s warranty I was thinking of Swift, but their tubing ID isn't the same. Eheim is made in Germany, apparently,...
