If you install it with the fan facing upwards, the 12V 4 pin connector on the s12 430w will reach the top right-hand corner of the motherboard easily. The only boards that will possibly have trouble with it are those that have the 4 pin connector somewhere on the top edge above the cpu. It still mig...

Well, personally I have my hands on some files that are used to blend nicks and edge deformations on jet engine blades. But you can get a set of jeweler's files reasonably inexpensive, and if you're going to get into any amount of minor mod work they'll earn their keep. Okay, great. Looks like it'l...

im wondering why you are not considering the aerogate 3  1. 3 or more knobs going from 5V or less to 12V (has 4) 2. 3 or more temperature sensors (has 4) 3. Temperature and RPM display in an LCD not sure 4. Works correctly with low RPM 120mm fans I did read some reviews about...

Unfortunatly, I can't take the UC-A8FATR4 out again (It's in a box, waiting for the move). I've only 'heard' you can disconnect the speaker. When I looked to do it, it didn't look like an easy task at all. I'm completely sure it is possible, but I wasn't up for the task for it when I looked at it. ...

I have an Enermax UC-A8FATR4 Fan Controller, but I don't use it anymore. The fan readings and temp readings were very reliable, and all fans run fully manual. You can basically crank the fans all the way down to no voltage if you desire. However, the alarm always goes off below 1000rpm, and it gets...

3 pin split fan cable with dual rpm output?
Does anyone know why I can buy a 3-pin fan cable that splits the rpm wire and can send it to both the motherboard and a fan controller? There are two included with the Zalman ZM-MFC1 as seen in this image from the SPCR review(marked as "C2 Cable"): http://www.silentpcreview.com/files/images/fan_cont...

Thanks MikeC and Shadowknight, that helps. I was planning to get an XP-120 before I saw this review and that was my only worry about switching. The Ninja seems like it'll be much better just from an airflow perspective--with a 120mm on the right side of the Ninja pushing air into it and the 120mm ex...

Yate Loon D12SL-12 vs D12SM-12
I'm interested in purchasing some Yate Loon fans from TekGems.com, and I'm wondering which model people prefer in general. Also, I'm wondering which model has the most optimal CFM/db ratio. I'd imagine the fans would be ranked like this: 1. 5V D12SL-12 - lowest CFM/db 2. 5V D12SM-12 3. 7V D12SL-12 4...

Glad to see I'm not the only one wondering about this Mike_Metro and HiFi :) Here what i got with playing around with the ducting. With the ducting my CPU load (load being 10 minutes of Flight Simulator 2004 at max settings) my cpu temp was 40C. WithOUT the ducting, the cpu temp is 37C at load. So a...

Well, I was specifically wondering about 4 HDs because that's how many I have and I was afraid it'd get pretty cramped. But your drawing helps a lot, I couldn't quite tell where the mounting holes for the fan were and now that you've pointed it out, I can see the slots where air can flow over the to...

Could someone explain the placement of the front fan to me? It seems really odd to have it behind the drive cage rather than in front. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but if I put 4 HDs in the cage would the front fan be able to draw in any air at all? I'm trying to decide between the Sonata II...
