Just 1 or 2 years and it'll be ready? :-P Looking nice Hehe, if you knew how many ideas I have, but oh so little time... and space... It got real tight with the old PSU. Works perfect though. http://www.wnd.se/htpc/dvd-slot-in.jpg The button on the backpanel: http://www.wnd.se/htpc/dvd-button...

Found a button for an old project that fit perfect, and I got the cable from an old reset switch, after some soldering it's now ready for test tonight. I will drill a hole for the button that can be accessed on the backplate. :D http://www.wnd.se/htpc/dvd-button.jpg http://www.wnd.se/htpc/dvd-button...

I got the DVD Mini and the EF16 PSU but the PSU started beeping when I tried it so I will have to return it and get a new one. The temps went down dramatically somehow so I am happy but I need a silent one  The S3 Resume function stopped working when I used the EF16 so that makes me a bit worr...

I think you mean GB in the bold :) Hehe, you are correct! :D It's GB. The HD arrived today but I can't fit it until the power supply arrives. The motherboard was out of stock at the supplier so I'll wait with updating that part, I do not really need them at the moment. I got the FloppyDTV-T card la...

Getting anywhere? I ordered the same mobo, i945GTm-VHL, and a T7200. The retailer could not verify the BIOS, and since they did not have it in stock, their support assumed it was the latest. Their supplier seemed to have sold out the motherboard, so hopefully I willl get a later BIOS...when it arriv...

Thought I'd give a quick update. :D The project is not dead, I've been busy with other things like moving and getting a new job. I have decided to take the project to phase two before finishing it. I just ordered new hardware to get one step closer to be able to watch DVB-T and playback Blu-ray and ...

Thank's Blair, It was my last piece of perspex, so it has to be the final, for now at least  I will order more though since it's hard to work with and, who knows what will happen before I have finished it, I still have to cut it to correct width, do the routing for the slot-load dvd, and paint...

Thanks for the great review! I wonder when this system is inserted inside a closed case, whether it would help to insulate the pipes at their midpoint so that the pipes are not dissipating heat back into the case near the cpu. This is a good idea, do you have a suggestion of what to use to insulate?...

I must say that perspex is not easy to work with, specially not in these sizes, It might be because I am a beginner  . I have spent 4 pieces of perspex so far. After a couple of hours with the 3 millimeter sheet I gave up, It did not give after for my attempts to bend it around the model. I su...

As you guys have pointed out, the reason was not enough heat and too much pressure. I took a 2 millimeter sheet and shaped it with less pressure, the result was better but still the precision is not good enough. I probably need help from a friend that can heat while I work with shaping it. A striphe...

Time for an update. :) I put some filler on the model, Plastic Padding Ultimate, we'll see if it can handle the heat. The peace of polycarbonate was a bit small so I bought some perspex, 2 and 3 millimeter thick to start testing with. I started out with a piece that was 3mm thick. Sawing the perspex...

I got the pieces for the model today. Usually there are always drawbacks, this time the holes were not drilled through the pieces :?, 2 millimeters deeper would have been enough. Nothing to despair though, I'll just have to finish them myself :D Some images: http://www.wnd.se/htpc/wood1.jpg http://w...

Great job. Quick question, where did you get the heatpipe? Here's the website of the company who sells them. http://www.hifiatx.com/ They have a whole range of different heatpipe solutions for their HFX-Cases, these can be used in custom cases as well. Take a look at "Shop", you'll find local store...

The indicator spray might be an option, it seems to be hard to find though, I got a little inspired by the idea of putting my OLED-display in there and I tried to fix it yesterday (Only one row is working out of 2x20) but I could not find the problem. I have decided to make place for it and mount it...
