Re: Seagate Barracuda 3TB: 1TB Platter Behemoth
I've just bought the 2Tb version and I'm getting the chirping, I can live with it if the drive isn't going to die because of it, I find it worrying nonetheless.

I was quite surprised to read about this technology - sounds very cool indeed.

Quite handy that you've posted that piccy, I've been researching what to get myself, and had considered that board at one point, but then dismissed it as I thought it wouldn't have much room for a larger heatsink, and all 4 banks of RAM, but this now shows that it's possible - I've added both the co...

Quick + Safe underclock/undervolt for old AM2 chip
Hi, I'm just playing around with Crystal CPUID and thought I'd see what happens when I underclock my AM2 A64 3800+ single core down to 1.8Ghz from 2.4Ghz, and it seems not that much difference performance wise in the games I play - it's also a couple of degrees cooler (around 36-37C instead of 38-39...

What?! The GTX260 doesn't fit in the Solo? Well, technically it "can" fit if you cut the hard drive cage like I did. If the card was just a tiny tiny tiny bit shorter it would fit no problems. I'll take a pic or two for you so you can see it in detail :P. Edit: Excuse the hack job, and the dust (I ...

I've got the Samurai one on an AMD system, so different mounting system, but it seemed easy to install and relatively quiet. I can't say I noticed a big difference from the stock fan in terms of sound because ever since I had a motherboard fail when I had my case fan on low I'm paranoid and have it ...

I bought the 4400 and I like it (I've since swapped out the PSU for a Corsair one though) - had it since September 2006 and it's served me well. The front vents just behind the front panel tend to get a bit dusty, and the front panel resonates creating a humming sound, which are it's only downsides ...

Does anyone have an idea how the 7500 Alcu might perform? I assume it'll be just as noisy lol, but if the temperature differences are too much then I might go with that as a cheap alternative, as it's a very similar design, just minus the heatpipes. For a similar price to the 7500ALCU I could get a ...

Why use a disappearing 90 nm AMD CPU in January 2008? Windsor-core is at the end of its lifecycle. 65 nm CPU:s have been around for ages. Because it's AMD's fastest processor.... and their review is performance based, rather than just power consumption based. (edit: second fastest, the 6400+ being ...
