Re: Crucial m4 ssd vibration
Yep that's my plan. I'll use the ft-02 side bracket to mount the ssd. Given that suspension sometimes results in higher hdd temperatures, cooling shouldn't be a problem since I've undervolted one of the large 180mm fans to always be on.

Re: Crucial m4 ssd vibration
Yeah I actually got some of the packing material and shoved it between the case and the hdd. Better but that low frequency buzz is still audible. I'm going to try the suspension method when I get back from my overseas trip.
Thanks again guys.

Re: Crucial m4 ssd vibration
Solved. not my SSD. It's my samsung harddrive. The damn thing is inducing vibration throughout the whole case; even my motherboard backplate was vibrating thought it was the icy cool fans. The m4 is also vibrating because it's close to the samsung. No wonder I couldn't pinpoint it exactly. I think i...

Crucial m4 ssd vibration
It seems like the vibration in my case seams to be coming from my ssd which doesn't seem right. Aren't they supposed to have no moving parts? I already have a very quiet system but the quiet bug has caught me. Here are my specs: Silver stone ft02 Icy cool gelid VGA cooler on 4870 Prolimatech megahal...

New video card but want it quiet
OK guys so I have an old 7900gt which was once one of the best performance/value/cooling video cards. It has served me well. I recently got Modern Warfare 2 and wanted to get a video card upgrade. However, I had a vf900 cooler on my 7900 gt so it was pretty much silent most of the time and I turned ...

Wow lots of replies. Believe me devonavar I went through the bios back and forth. Sadly my asus mobo only supports PS2 mouse/keyboard support. Right now I've put a keyboard under my desk to start my computer on and off but it kinda takes away legroom. I didn't think of the power on option. How would...

My reason is that I have my computer in the closet. As it is in the closet, prior to getting a g15 for christmas, I was using my ps2 keyboard to start my computer. I was thinking of using my ps2 mouse but since it is a laser mouse, the slightest touch starts up my computer. Sometimes if I bump my de...

Power measured by battery backup=total power used by pc?
Sounds like a dumb questions but remember: there's no stupid questions - only stupid people. Okay so I have my wireless router, my dsl modem, and my monitor plugged into my battery backup. My batter backup relays total power usage back to my computer via usb. Ignoring my monitor's, the modem's...

Sharp whine from psu: fan replacement or something more?
Do you guys think I'll have to replace the whole psu or jsut the fan? My current psu is the antec sp-500 modular. Would you gyus suggest the corsair 520hx modular or the seasonic s12 550? I'm almost dead certain it's the psu. removed my raptor. no difference. turned off all my fans including vga fan...

So Mike or anyone else who can answer this. THe 2db difference between this model and the Seasonic 550 isn't that much and could be due to experimental variance? 2db sounds like a big difference but the idea of having modular cables is extremely enticing but I'm a little worried when I'm spending ab...

NEW HD. 150-200GB. Sata. $0-120
Title sums it up. By the way i want it to be really really quiet. However, I have a 74gb (older) raptor so as long as its seeks aren't above 23dBa it's fine. Samsung Spinpoint T HD400LJ is a nice model and the WD counterpart are also good but I was wondering if the SPCR review ratings of the hds wil...

Pondering watercooling & novibes III, Heat issue 4 HD?
Currently I have a raptor mounted in the lower drive cage in my p180 and seeks from my raptor are still pretty loud. I wanted to move onto the next step and get a watercooling unit for my processor and video card and I was wondering if the lack of airflow within the case (externaly mounted radiators...
