yes the 80mm fan on side is an exhaust fan, in the LC11 cool air is sucked into the case from bottom, then exit here at the side, but you give me a good sugggestion in terms of providing some ducting between the current heatsink and this exhaust fan can improve cooling originally the heat sink use t...

Silverstone LC11M 478 bigger heat sink
Anyone know of a low profile (<75 mm with fan) heat sink that can use a big fan (120 mm preferred) that I can put in this case ? http://avbuzz.com/bbs/av/av-uploads/2008/09/07/122079712802.jpg http://avbuzz.com/bbs/av/av-uploads/2008/09/07/1220797128.jpg Currently using Silverstone NT03 but headroom...

Scythe Shuriken for Silverstone LC11 case ?
Upgrading cpu from 2.6 to 3E GHz Northwood and want to make sure I have enough cooling, currently using Silverston NT03 and thinking about going to the Shuriken... but wondering if this type of cooler might work as the airflow of this case is inverted : mobo/cpu is on the top ceiling of case facing ...

Final finding is even a small two-wire 12V fan can permit the system to boot, still fan does not move though. I wonder if just shorting the wire or put a resistor in would do the trick, because apparently there is no voltage check, just continuity check from the mobo - any opinons here ? pop winxp h...

not sure how much money can be saved by cutting out the fan connector and cmos reset jumper, it is curious the soldered fan connector needs to be there (with fan attached) to boot to BIOS, but then at the same time the fan does not spin ! From a circuit point of view, the circuit needs to be connect...

i got a lemon mobo : missing front chassis fan connector
so system wont' boot - but the mobo was bought from ebay in US and now I'm in Asia. I did get into the BIOS by jumpering to CONFIG mode and also disabled the fan control, but cannot get rid of the fan error message. Maybe I should try recovery also - however the BIOS does indicate things are ...

Good question - didn't test that first as I worked on each piece separately and then assemble together.MikeC wrote:pyro2003 -- Was the system working before you did the fan swap?

yes that's the tradeoff but one can use a small fanlike the Nexus Frisbee to blow at the drive maybe that the optimal solution (instead of encasing inside 3.5) -

Read thru other threads w.r.t. suspending drives. But in the NSK2400 the drives are side-way up. What methods have people tried to suspend 2.5" Hard Drives ? I'm using Samsung 120 GB 2.5" drives ... not overeating would be nice of course

With a CDROM and real CPU like 3 G Prescott, this case has serious overheating problems. tamed my 3G Shuttle XPC SB86i - finally
Honestly I have been fighting the heat problem of this Prescott 3G machine whole of last year, after it cooked & killed 2 Seagate 200 GB Sata HDs. Problem is no air flow on top space to cool the drives. Not able to cool it sufficiently I have moved all the drives outside for 6 months. But in the pro...

USB TV Box needs a 12V power delay circuit
I have been using Compro USB 2.0 Live external TV box .. while the picture performance is not bad, the driver and power issues left much work (and they're not fixing it) Basically it needs additional DC power from additional transformer after the USB driver is initialized in WinXP, so one has to man...
