IIRC the localised copies of windows are more expensive due to Microsoft paying a company in that region to translate their software into that language (at least with Hebrew and Hindi it is).
Have you considered buying Windows 7 in the UK?
It should be allot cheaper that France with the weak pound.

The RAM would be a little cooler if the sticks were not right next to each other. maybe the OP needs to run them like that for dual channel? The Op is running that board in Single Channel mode. Back in 2003, I "upgraded" the computer in my signature (the one in Gambia) from a that JNC 4JA (2002 edition) to a Thermaltake Xaser 5 Wingo, and the Tt case was quieter! I had a similar issue when I was cleaning one of the mats in my dads car. There was a load of sparkly silvery things in the mat that had gotten caught in the carpet of the mat. I have a Acer L5100 which is not so quiet. I'd like to experiment with pulling out the hard-drive and making the computer boot over lan from a server I have. It has Vista Home Premium installed. Is this possible, and can anyone point me towards resources regarding this? My Mum's L5100 ain't that lo...

To be honest, the guy could have also installed windows XP on the pentium 133 so long as he had enough ram or patience. I have seen Windows XP installed on a Pentium 133 with 96mb of ram before. I suppose running Windows XP using LTSP will mean better performance as the faster C2D is doing all the h...

I am looking for "relatively quiet" laptop for a college daughter. The usual configuration, but prefer 17" screen. Mainly for general web, etc, likely with XP or Vista. She request 'quiet" one since the old one I am inheriting is due to "loud noise". which one is under $800 with relatively quiet fa...

Thermaltake SpinQ - Astonished
Sometime in 2006, I thought that it'd be a laugh to sign up to the Thermaltake email newsletter. True to word, the Thermaltake newsletter has in the past provided humour in the form of Engrish marketing sound bites interspersed with interesting takes on component technology. Occasionally, something ...

It looks like it would. You could always try the venerable Zalman NB-47J o...

All in all, i think that its an awesome build with a a very neat outcome.

I've often wondered why there isn't just a lattice work of metal behind the mobo. It'd cover all of your mounting locations and add a lot of space for wire management or heat dissipation. I'm sure it'd cost more to produce... but whatever. Its a trade-off, two much material taken off the mobo tray ...
