Found this thread describing how to get TCaseMax when using linux. I had to be root to get the correct value because of access rights.

Code: Select all

echo TCaseMax: $[((0x$(setpci -d 1022:1103 0xe4.L)>>25)&0xf)*2+49] C

It doesn't matter mad_man. Be careful and don't do anything that can harm yourself or equipment.

Ok, thats whats inside of the gel-packs Bluefront. Thought it contained saline water or water+glycol. Thanks.

mad_man it would be interesting, if you have a clamp multimeter or something like a killawatt, to know the total powerdraw of your system. 40 - 60W under normal use maybe? And yes keep us updated! :) Bluefront, using airflow could work but I would be too scared of shorting out something to use gel-p...

Thanks for the info mad_man, please make a post in general gallery when your system is completed, pics is always appreciated. I personally would not go for a totally passive system, thinking I would like to use the psu-fan to both cool the psu and evacuate some of the heat produced by all the other ...

Nice mod, I'm guessing your username derive from you being angry, not crazy. ;) Thanks for showing us this mod. Couple of questions: Your cpu-cooler looks like an zalman cpns7000. Have you have mounted it with the accompanying backplate? If so, are the "backside heatsink" positioned over the cpu vol...

The new SOLO seems to be a very nice case. It's similar to antec p150 but without psu. They are not identical, the fronts differ between them I think. It costs 110 USD.

I, got a 939dual-sataII myself and I have not seen other people complain about temp sensors not working right on other messageboards for this particular motherboard. But it's still possible yours is faulty. SpeedFan is a good program but make sure you are not using a erroneous config for it, maybe t...

Felger Carbon can be right, in the post above. It could be a measurement problem. So Ryan, tell us what motherboard and the utility you use to measure temps. Maybe someone around here know if there's a known problem with your motherboard or something.

Hello Ryan, the cpu temperatures you get seems high. But you have not told us your ambient temperatures. If your cpu temp is 25*C over ambient at idle, with your processor and nifty heatsink, then something is wrong. Even considering that you have OC'ed. Maybe you have put to little thermal grease o...

Re: Very happy with Samsung SP2504C 250GB decision

Thought this could be helpfull if someone can't change aam level with hutil: Some have reported that they could not set the Accoustic level on their Samsung drive using the Samsung HUtil, but they could do so using the Hitachi utility - this seems odd to me, and makes me wonder if they received OEM ...

Live: You can't control the fan speed through software on this motherboard, not with Almico's SpeedFan or similar programs.
If you reapply thermal grease on the north bridge cooler do it also on the south bridge because it is very hot.

Given the two choices I'd go for the Antec SLK2650-BQE because the silentium is very awkward to work with. I know this because I own a silentium. But If was to buy a chassi+psu today I would buy a Antec SLK3000B and a ss-version seasonic psu (oem if available). This combo seems to be a very good cho...

Hello greenkawasaki, if you enable S.M.A.R.T in bios you should be able to make the harddrive use acoustic management with the one if not all of your downloaded utility programs that you mentioned before. There are other good things that comes with enabling S.M.A.R.T, such as monitoring the drives t...

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. I also looked after a good 3 1/2 inch fancontroller but I settled for a ZM-MFC1 , 4 channels with variable voltage 5.5 - 11V and two switches 0/5/12 volt. It sits in the 5.25" bay. The knobs is clear from the door in a silentium t2. It has LEDs that glow in blue but it...

Well written and informative review as always. I was wonder if you think it's possible to bend the lowest fins with a pair of pliers so the mosfets get more air? On a 939 board the fan blows to the back exhaust right? Typo in the table at the price row: "NH-U 12 : ~€40 (~US$45)" should be "NH-U 9 : ...

For retrieving and updating the graphics cards bios, you can use the "Gigabyte @VGA BIOS Writer" utility (bundled with the vtuner). For alter the bios to cater temperature measurement, you ...

I can also recommend a 939Dual-SATA2. Given it's price it's a good buy. But you need to use an unofficial bios for CnQ down to 1.1V. Your Zalman 7000A Cu doesn't fit a 939 mobo does it? Shouldn't it be 7000B? If you are on a budget you should get a cheap venice 3000+ instead of a 3800+. Chances are ...

Hi, CnQ works with ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 down to 1.3V in official bios and down to 1.1V in unsupported ones. Works well in both windows XP and Linux for me. The motherboard doesn't support fan throttling, only monitoring of fans.
