P180 + M12 Seasonic?
Question to those that have M12s or Corsair HXs in P180s. I'm thinking about replacing my current Lian Li tower with a black P180 and replacing my current shite PSU (Vantec, total mess, new ASUS motherboard didn't work with my NeoPower, swapped with a friend) with a Seasonic M12. My question is pret...

Isn't corsair(?) or one of the other RAM-companies comming out with a rebadge of thei seasonic, without the extra fan? That might be worth a try. AtW Yes, Corsair HX620. They have an HX520 as well. At Newegg, HX520 is $129.99, Seasonic M12 500 is $139.99. Pretty much the same deal. I found one thin...

I'd love to tackle this project myself, but the investment is a bit high for pure science content. I'd say the thing to do would be to just get someone to create a temp shroud for their room-sized ionic fan and use an anemometer to measure the cfm and report back. If the properly assembled unit isn'...

Ionic Breeze PC Cooling rig
Caught this on Slashdot, seems like SPCR's kind of bag: http://inventgeek.com/Projects/IonCooler/Overview.aspx Ionic Breeze crammed into full tower case with passive PSU and GPU using RAM disks (not the newer flash disks, but the old-style "stick some ram on a battery powered card and plug it in to ...

I know this is a total zombie thread, but this fan came up in conversation today. Was there ever a review? In case you're curious about context, someone mentioned the Red Green episode where he beats dimples in his car, cause if they make golfballs work better, they must make cars work better, and I...

So, what we've got here is likely a Seasonic-sourced modular-cable PSU with 80% efficiency at average loads (if Johnny is to be believed)? That sounds like the holy grail, to me. My NeoPower 480, while not the quietest or most efficient, did quite well and I loved the modular plugs, but alas, I was ...

As for the reasoning behind pairing a mobile cpu with a power hungry graphics card, I'm just as stumped. Perhaps there is a strong demand for a low power low noise computer that will ocasionally be used for some MAD gaming, and the two crossfire'ed cards will run idle most of the time. So, the thin...

Isn't the P180 dampened already? I thought that was one of the selling points, "three layer side walls" or something like that. Amen to the 939 recommendation. Unless you want to use a Turion as a low power low heat solution, 754 is dead as a doornail, which is probably why it's so cheap. :) Round c...

Now that's some activity! Yeah, this is the golfball fan. I'm no aeronautical engineer, but I truly don't understand how the golf-ball-inspired dimples are going to improve anything. In case anyone's interested, Why Golf Balls Have Dimples (howstuffworks.com) . Taking that concept and trying to unde...

Agreed, on the review. I've found lots of sites that posted "reviews" like "So, we swapped out one of our 7 case fans on the test rig with this thing and WOW is it quiet! On our A64 4800+ X2 Dual 7800GTX quad-Raptor test system running Quake 4 at 2560x1600, we couldn't even hear it over the jet-turb...

I've been researching some quieter fan solutions for my rig and I came across this on HardOCP, and I couldn't find any references to it in the forums here. Anyone even heard of these guys let alone this fan? The specs seem pretty decent, but then the specs on the Thermaltake Silent Cats seem pretty ...
