Thanks Cisco and eztiger2, One question..... I read somewhere (can't remember where) that the cables on the Seasonic Power Supplies were fairly short. I may go with the Antec P180 case for my new setup, do you think that the cables will reach? Thanks again for your replies :D They do reach. The onl...

Between the nVidia SLI certification program for PSUs, the recent round-up at Tom's Hardware and the very good reviews here it was pretty easy for me to go with a Seasonic S12... I got a good deal on the 600 so I went for it, but the 500 or 430 (if you're only going to use one vga card) are all grea...

Re: Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe: more passive cooling

looks like Asus is being realistic and providing a fan for people who run their CPU passive/watercooled Yes...just don't expect it to be quiet. I'm well on my way to making a very nice and quiet system with this board...The optional fan will reduce MB temps under load by about 2-4 degrees but it is...

Do I really need the third (thick) tricool as an intake? In the SPCR review the intake fan didn't make much of an overall difference except increase sound. I'm also aiming at the same type of configuration for ur bottom compartment. Tape up the holes for bringing in fresh air on the s12-500 and use...

While you're shopping "Zalman" you might as well go with their cheap, "no fuss, no muss" ZM-MFC1 (look at the review here.) I just did this a couple of days ago and even added two more fans to it last night (replaced the stock GPU heat sinks on a pair of BFG 7800 GT OCs with VF700-CUs... better cool...

My impression of the Scythe Ninja / Antec P180 combo is " WOW! Simply spectacular ". The combination of the 2 exhaust fans so near the huge Ninja as well as the separation of the psu heat works incredibly efficiently. All this while running my cpu with a 20% overclock! Personally, I will run the un...

Succes! :) Splicing & connecting spare molex plugs to spare female 3 pin plugs was much easier than I had thought. Testing on one spare fan was all that was needed to figure out the correct wiring. It's just too bad the Antec case fans don't have the third wire for monitoring the RPM. It's very nice...

I'm not a noob when it comes to wire stripping , connecting, etc., but I do want to make 100% sure of what I'm planning before I get in there and do it. I have ma...

Zalman ZM-MFC1, Antec P-180... connecting case fans

Hi, I've been searching around the forums for a source of the rare 4-pin to 3-pin converter I need to connect the P-180 case fans to the ZM-FC1. So far all the sources I've seen linked are for suppliers in the US... 1) Is there a Canadian source for these? In Vancouver preferably, but at this point ...

I use the NV Silencer 5 Rev.3 on my 6800GT, although it was designed for the 7800 series (i.e. Asus 7800GTX Top), and I've experienced excellent results. However, from what I gather from Thermalright (biased source, true), their new V-1 Ultra will be the best VGA cooler on the market. The problem i...

In view of the info in this thread is there really any advantage/disadvantage to hooking up the 4-pin 12V auxiliary connector to the motherboard vs. just using an adaptor off a regular molex? In some cases (P-180) this could be a better option for tidy wiring. I was under the impression that this wa...

Thanks for the reply Mike. I like the idea of the wedged foam... a lot! I knew the foam used for packing the P180 would come in handy :) I am also not 100% sure if the BFG fans blow down or exhaust. I looked around for just that last night and couldn't find it. But then I've never had an ATI or nVid...

Re: P180 - running cables behind mobo ?

Hello The first is a practical one - how do you get the cable to stay where it is whilst you install the motherboard - do you use electrical tape or something? Hey Woody, Hopefully I'll have some photos this weekend sometime to show you how I'm doing it. My plan is to tape it down to the tray using...

Ok, my fault: my question was way too wordy and specific... I'll try again.

Have any of you P180 owners blocked the rear VGA-duct holes? How did it work out?

Thanks :)

Oh how I wish I could be building and testing things myself! But I'm determined to use the ASUS A8N32-SLI board and I still can't find one...sheesh, I'd even drive to Seattle from Vancouver for one if any store had one :( (I've even seen the price for this board INCREASE in some places the past 2 we...

It will fit but it's pretty tight. I've got the S12-500 and the A8n-sli premium and it just barely fits. Actually I think it's putting some tug on the 12v board connector. You have to snake it under the PCI-e lock and around the passive heatsink. Thanks Clark. Can you tell me if you got it to fit w...

I am guessing you can probably stretch it to reach... if you remove the plastic divider between the upper & lower champers and make something simple yourself. A thin piece of medite board would work fine; couple screws to hold it down (after drilling a couple holes in the steel panel), a little sof...

I know that both NCIX and FrontierPC are selling the Silverstone PP01 extension kit, which includes both ATX extension cables (4pins and 24pins extensions, 6 inches each). It's a bit pricey though. NCIX sells this kit for $21.90 CAD, and FrontierPC wants $24.24 CDN for it. There must be another pla...
