Not a foam specialist... or a "mass loading" one, either. Haven't gotten around to dampening my Antec box. Still, when I do, I'm going to try this stuff out:

According to that the 3800+ got it's ass kicked almost everywhere by a Pentium D840. The advantage of a 3800+ is obviously the lower TDP, anything else? This is an unfair comparison. The D840 is usually compared to the 4200+ or 4400+. If you take another look at Tom's conclusion, you'll see this: A...

My older system is a Northwood P4 on an Abit IS7, which like the AI7 is based on the 865PE chipset. The P4 is a 2.8C overclocked to 3.4GHz with a Zalman 7000 running at 1400 RPM. The chipset fan on the IS7 was incredibly annoying, so after three months I finally unplugged the damn thing (but left th...

You can purchase replacement wire clips that will permit use of the Nexus fan unmodded.
I dunno if I'd use a dremel on the fan. I'd probably use snips instead.
Search the forums, I'm pretty sure this question has been addressed.

I have a Liberty 400W and it is quiet. My Zalman 7000 and the stock cooler on my Radeon 9500 drown out its fan. You got me curious, though, acuaviva, so I stopped both of those along with my Yate Loon exhaust. The Liberty's fan has a very low rumble that I can ONLY hear with the case's side panel of...

Traveling with a Scythe Ninja...?
Hello everyone, I am looking to upgrade the CPU cooler for my Socket 478 P4 machine (which will eventually become an A64 dualcore, once I save the money.) I am torn between the SI-120 and the Ninja. I like the idea of using the SI-120 to cool motherboard components, as Ralf does in his Antec P150, b...

Re: Suggestions for Socket 939 mobo w. on-board graphics
Your best bets will be motherboards with the Radeon XPRESS 200 chipset. Fair warning, there aren't many of them, though: Newegg links: AMD boards and Intel boards . Look at them carefully; some of them, especially the higher-priced Crossfire models, do not provide a VGA connector. (On the "upside", ...

This thread just went up a few hours ago, but for D-12BMs. Maybe you can ask if asianx13oy can find any D-12SMs?

Y'all should know that Tomshardware is conducting a comparison review of the A8R-MVP and the A8N-SLI right now. The first part of the review, in which they compare stock performance, is up. (The next parts are storage subsystem performance and overclocking.) Here are two quotes I find most telling: ...
