Thanks for the response, I guess the best way to state it is that in order to get the Ninja 939 clip to lock down with the bottom of the heatsink on top of the CPU, it's going to take a LOT of force, and I don't know if that's correct....I don't want to crush or damage the CPU (especially since they...

Scythe Ninja and AMD x2 don't seem to fit? Fast help please!

Hello, I'm in the middle of doing my first build, consisting of Antec P180, Asus A8V Deluxe, and AMD x2 4800. I'm trying to install a Scythe Ninja heatsink, but it doesn't seem to fit...when attatched to the 939 mounting bracket, the bottom of the Ninja protrudes a bit beneath the bottom of the brac...

Why are you buying such an fast CPU and those DRAMs? X2 +3800 and budget-ram (Corsair Value) should be more than enought for you. Or if you want the cache you might look at Opteron 165 Thanks for the response. The reason for the fast CPU and RAM (I should've been clear about this) is that I'll be u...

Newbie components check

Hello (I hope I've got this post in the correct place!), I'm assembling my first homemade computer to be used primarily for recording audio (DAW), and maybe a little video editing, but no gaming. I think I've narrowed down my components, and would really appreciate any advice/thoughts. I already hav...

So, for an ignorant newbie, 1)what is the difference and 2)which is better (or which is better for what particular application?)?
Thank you.

SeaSonic S-12 Rev. 3?

I read somewhere (probably in here) that SeaSonic was releasing a third revision of the S-12 line on February 15. Does anyone know 1)what the difference will be, 2)if it's worth waiting for (as opposed to just buying a Rev. 2), and 3)if it will be available at retail on the 15th or ship then and be ...

Now I just wonder if I should look into the S12-500 or the Antec Phantom 500 + P180 case  I'm in the same boat, I've got the P180 and an Asus A8V Deluxe. Is it just a matter of personal preference, or is one notably better than the other? I'm going to use the computer mostly for recording mus...
