Re: Antec Kühler H20 620 & 920 CPU Water Coolers
My HTPC is built inside a Silverstone LC04 case with very limited room for a CPU cooler. Right now I have the stock cooler that came with the Phenom, but it's not really that quiet. Originally I was going to stick a Scythe Shuriken in there, but it won't really fit due to the optical drive mounted a...

Re: 9600GT + Accelero S2 heat issues
Are you talking about a 18°C relative increase or are you using some sort of peltier cooling? Having a CPU temp five degrees below ambient isn't really possible otherwise.clamato12 wrote:...The cpu's temps are 18/38C (idle/load) in a 23C ambient environment,...

Interesting to hear you did the same thing for a different reason. :) My CPU temps aren't rising as much as the GPU under load, but I guess things could change once i put the second card in. Fan on the outside is a good idea, but unfortunately it won't fly for me. I understand what you're suggesting...

Can't really say that was an overwhelming amount of input, :) but I've thinking a little about this one myself and hopefully somebody (anyone, anyone, Buehler?) has something to say about this idea: http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/7932/ductingnv9.jpg What if I sealed off the (soon to be two) vidc...

P180/9600GT(soon SLI) - move Noctua from Ninja to top vent?
Greetings! Current setup Due to being a big klutz I haven't got a more recent picture available at the moment, but it's almost as pictured below (and exactly as in my sig). What differs is the following: 1. The 120x38mm TriCool made its way back between the PSU and HDs. (things worked without with t...

Well I'm sure others will have other recommendations, The Zalmans are fine but you do have to be willing to fan-swap and have a steely attitude to load temps I think. What I meant was if I was doing my old build that would be the direct replacement ... not necessarily what I might use today if I ga...

To be honest if I were you I wouldn't bother with an upward blowing fan, especially given the CPU you're going to be using. The case is roomy enough and there are enough vents in the side that heat shouldn't be a big issue, especially if you undervolt and so on. Sounds very nice. :) The vent in the...

Heatsink w/ upwards-blowing fans for Silverstone LC04 HTPC?
I'm looking for some expert input on what CPU cooler to use in an upcoming HTPC build. Since the case can't have much depth I'm looking to use an Silverstone LaScala LC04 ( SPCR review ) and stuff a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H mobo and a AMD 4850e inside. http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/2584/lc04v1ws2...

Mats, well the store here in sweden with that low price now raised it 16$. I probably caused that by emailing and asking if these gigabyte cards where slower than a standard 9600 GT (I also found the price strangely low). The store verified that it's a standard card BTW, but with a heatsink. The go...

TweakTown review Nothing unusual there. Really? Don't you think the temperature of 83+ degrees Celsius was a bit out of the ordinary? I can't think of another reviewer or forum poster that has mentioned such temps. Also, TweakTown say the card was at stock speeds while Digit-Life claimed it was ove...

MikeC, I've been thinking about something since I first saw the S1/S2/TM. Since the fins protrude outside the horizontal area of the vid card - wouldn't it be a good idea to have the fan blowing upwards through the fins and vid card and thereby move the hot air directly towards the case fan which ex...

I'm getting a 404 when I click your link. Might want to take a look at that. As for the picture - it looks like the fan is in pull configuration which would imply you're moving air away from the rear of the case (if that's part of the rear plate showing in the background). What kind of airflow do yo...

JJRabbit, OS X being "UNIX based" does not mean you can run UNIX programs on it. I fed "hardware monitoring os x" into Google and this was the first page it suggested. good enough for you? Otherwise I'm sure there are other options if you spend more than the ten seconds I spent. On another point, I ...
