It will definately be OK for now, at least with DX9 games. You will be approach its limits with demanding DX10 games that will push the 8800GTX to a full 185W of power consumption. You could upgrade to a Corsair 520HX (40A 12V rail = 40 x 12 = 480W)or Seasonic M12-500 (36A 12V rail = 36 x 12 = 432W)...

What are your full system specs? Unless you have high end everything, a Seasonic S12-430 may well be enough.

You might have problems with your TrueBlue powering an 8800GTX. Although its on paper specs suggest it will cope (28A +12V rail) its an old design, created for older systems that drew most of their power on the 5V and 3.3V rails. It might not like the huge +12V power draw an 8800GTX creates. I had a...

I'm not an expert, but all the cases / acoustic sound dampening solutions I have seen either: 1) Disperse sound but preventing direct reflections. If anything, I think people underestimate system power use and wattage requirements. I recommend that with your system you use a 2000KW PSU. http://www.bowerspower.com/pdfs/XS2000U.PDF You will have more than enough power, even after 5 years. I would watch it carefully though. Jaganath is likely to ...

You will get playable FPS with one 8800GTX. I bet Anandtech's figures didn't stress the system with DX10 benchmarks / ga...

I brought INTEL back in July 2006 when stocks were $18.00 because they were so damn cheap. There's nothing wrong with using firewire. It seems silly to suggest tossing those out for no good reason. I'd also use a tested, stable platform (XP) vs. Vista until at least the first service pack. Firewire is fine in itself, but is often implemented via a motherboards 32bit PCI bus. That means i...
