Re: Silverstone Grandia GD05: A Versatile HTPC Case
Just built one of these this weekend with an AMD A6 Fusion APU & Asus F1A75-M Pro motherboard. The hardest part of the build was finding a Scythe Big Shuriken. Everything else went together just fine. I think someone else here made the statement that the case instructions are excellent and I agree. ...

Re: Zalman CNPS10X Flex CPU Cooler
I've been using one of these on my i7 2600k rig, but having been getting the cooling performance I thought should. It was bad enough during media encoding, the machine would start thermally throttling itself. I figured that I'd pull the cooler, clean the heatsink, cpu cap and reapply some arctic sil...

Just wanted to throw in my two cents. I've been running a PowerColor 3870 (AX version with the non reference cooler) for nearly two years and just upgraded to a Sapphire 5850 last night. I am positive that it isn't louder than the 3870 and the fact that I can bump World in Conflict up to 1900x1200 h...

I've got one of these mounted in my P180. It does have more seek noise than the Seagate 7200.8 I was using as hda0, but only noticably so when doing read/writes for an extended period of time, like boot up, or loading my developement tools and database. It's a great workstation hard drive, and if gi...

Aspire X-QPack Mini Review
My wife's old PC was 4 years old, and it finally bit the dust, so it was time for a full system upgrade. Since the reviews on newegg were mostly positive (except for the included pws) I selected it as her new system's case. The other components installed are EVGA mATX NF4 Mobo NEC 3550 DVD burner Se...

Gainward has one for sale in Europe 7739-BLISS 7800GS Silent 512MB AGP
Bit pricey for us though.
The good thing is that it proves that you CAN have a 7900 powered card in AGP format.

Yeap, it's an Abit NF7-S2G. I swapped the stock fan for a Nexus and didn't mess with the voltages. Temps are pretty constant. I haven't seen MBM report anything higher than 39 C, but it's usually running between 32 and 35. The video card is a GeForce 3 ti200 with the Zalman passive cooler, so I do s...

I don't know why it took so long, but I finally pitched my vantec aerocool 39db noise maker. Man was that thing LOUD. The PC in question is my home server. I use it for e-mail, print, and web serving, as well as internal developement. It's in our office and as stated is on 24/7. The hardware... AMD ...
