With a little help from some Xandros users on their forums, the nVidia drivers are installed, and the system is up and running...at 1.35V. The BIOS doesn't directly support voltage regulation, so I'm looking for anything I can do to decrease power consumption. Dukla2000 suggested CnQ. I downloaded P...

It's an old thread, but I'm adding my two cents. My experience with w/c was very good. No leaks, no setup problems, no tweaking. $$$ was the solution. I purchased all Innovatek parts with compression fittings, a passive radiator, and clear vinyl tubing. I used standard automotive antifreeze as the s...

Sorry for the late reply
Thanks for the feedback. I'm sorry about the late reply.
I'm having lots of trouble with drivers for my system. Yes, it's the Turion rig. I'll give CnQ a try when I get there, but it may be a while.

I've come across several vendors of aluminum heat sinks, but haven't had time to pursue them. They're bound to be more expensive than window rails, though.

Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF
I haven't found this motherboard on this thread, so here it is: The Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF supports undervolting with Crystal CPUID but does not support undervolting directly from BIOS. The GA-K8N51GMF is a Socket 754 board with the nVidia 6100 northbridge, 410 southbridge and an added IEEE 1394 contr...

Crystal CPUID and Linux
Has anyone tried running Crystal CPUID with WINE in Linux?
My motherboard's BIOS doesn't directly support undervolting, and I'm not up for hacking the kernel. If I could use CPUID to set the Vcore to 1.1v and exit, I would be very happy.

I tried a "refurbished" board from NewEgg. It came in a box alone, without software or even a backplate to fit it to an ATX case. It had to go back. It's a nice board and was my first choice, but it's discontinued and getting pretty hard to find. If you can find one, it supports undervolting from BI...

Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF works -- Addendum
First, the shims: Nothing special, just foam punch outs similar to, but a little more firm than, the ones that came glued on my old Athlon XP CPU. "Graduated bolt mount system"? I don't know what you guys are talking about. My Zalman CNPS7700-Cu cooler bolts to the motherboard with a thumbscrew with...

Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF works
I've just set up a Turion MT-40 system on a Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF motherboard. The BIOS doesn't directly support undervolting or Cool&Quiet, but using Crystal CPUID, I have full control of voltage and the multiplier. I undrervolt at 1.075 V, which leads to an idle power of 55 watts for the entire sys...
