I'm expecting to receive EVGA's 65nm/192core 260 this week. Hopefully, if all goes well, I can post some info about it soon, since almost no one is buying the 65nm/192 shaders cards anymore. I hate GPU fans, so I will probably turn down the clock and try to keep the fan as quiet as possible. I'm cro...

What about this is pointless exactly? I plan on getting a i7 in a month or so, and I'd like the quietest machine possible. A little underclocking and a crazy heatsink like this would give me plenty of room to silence my new machine. I live in the city and I could arguably get away with fans on high ...

I think that PWM is safer than dropping the voltages, but still poses a risk of stopping your fan altogether. I don't know how long it takes for a fan to degrade to the point where it won't start though. I wouldn't worry about the rpm not being reported. I've noticed that a lot of boards don't recog...

A conical "heatpipe" that is incorporated into the CPU itself? Am I reading this correctly? It's a really cool idea, which would not only direct heat to the center of a heatsink, but give it a more immediate path away from the die via the tip of the cone. Plus, it would make the mounting process as ...

This looks like an interesting product. I believe it would be best utilized at the rear interior of the case with a fan on it, exhausting the air out of the back. I do wonder how the fan sounds with the radiator's restrictive airflow. Obviously, the air going over the radiator would be warmer at the...

Interesting. That card is pretty old. The amount of time and effort to make modifications (or money, if you have someone do it for you) hardly seems worth it. I'm not much of a gamer, so it doesn't matter to me, but you can find passively cooled cards online for way less than it would cost to have s...

I have the same XFX card. No modding necessary. Rivatuner (a free program) can slow down the fan. It's interesting, but at 90% my XFX is now nearly inaudible from inside the case. Yes, the Antec 350 should have enough power for your system. Though I don't know much about it, 350 should cover most no...

Here's some suggestions that have worked for me in the past. Good Luck! 1.Consider plugging speakers into the board. Maybe the Asus speech post reporter will tell you what the problem is. 2.Try booting with only one ram stick in. 3.Switch out your power cable with another one. 4.Switch out your PSU ...

It kinda sounds like that cooler was not enough for your 7600. If the heatsink was hot along with the card, it sounds like the heat was being spread through the heatsink, but it wasn't able to get it out fast enough. I'd be really careful about using it on another card. If you want to try it again, ...

I found a radio interview with Popular Mechanics. Don't know who's interviewing him, but it's interesting. It's pretty even in my opinion. But, it shows that there are sensible rebuttals to their position on 9-11. It's 20 minutes long, so it won't appeal to everyone. http://www.apfn.net/pogo/A003I06...

Ryan, you've picked on the easy questions. I think the government's theories are untrue, and I don't subscribe to the no-plane-at-the-pentagon theory either. I really think that "don't believe everything that you hear" should apply doubly when it comes to the government. Plus, if you have to answer ...

I've read a whole lot about this because my first instinct was that something was awry. I found a lot of things that point to government conspiracy, and then saw a lot of couterpoints that make many of those things seem like utter hogwash. I know you've checked this over and over, but nothing happening at all points to power not getting to the board. I'd check the power switch connections, and if all else fails, try connecting another case's button to your board. Most parts, while sensitive, are able to withstand reasonable amounts of...

I used to have a Cyrix. One thing that can be relatively certain is that it runs HOT. We're talking about this thing like it was from the stone age. My god, I'm not that old am I? I agree, the wiring looks good enough. It's a nice looking build. The only thing about the wiring is it's lack of hidden-ness (umm?). I mean, I personally get a little weird about making the wires parallel to the edges of the case, which is totally unnecessary as far as airflow is concerned. You've ...

Well, it does look elegant. But, how does the airflow work, exactly?. Where does it exit? What plugs in to it? A monitor? Keyboard? At the very least you have to have some kind of network cable, hard drive, or something. I'd like to see where you take it once it's plugged in to things. I mean, it lo...

Everest, though now difficult to find at times because the writers discontinued it, will report your chipset temps as 'motherboard.' After a lot of confusion, most a8nslipremium users agree that this is the chipset diode. Speedfan reports this as well as temp2. It sounds like a frustrating problem. ...

I've seen a lot of posts about the chipset temps varying considerably from board to board. I've not seen any thus far about the temps causing instability. Mine runs at 35-40 degrees typically. What's yours running? My guess is that if the stability is caused by the chipset heat, it is most likely a ...

I was having the same problem yesterday with my harddrive (on foam, in the upper drive cage.) The lack of airflow took it to 55 degrees, which is much hotter than it should be running. As a temporary solution, I just stuck a fan into the drive cage to give it some air. This dropped the temp by 20 de...

A really beautiful case! And planning to fit watercooling inside? That's just neat. How are your temps? I'm particularly curious about your hard drive, because it seems to be separated from airflow. Come to think of it, I'm definitely a bit confused about the airflow in general inside this thing. Wh...

Thanks a lot. My temps are actually pretty good, so I think I'll be alright. I'm at about 27-33 ambient. The PSU seems to stay cool even at load, and still has decent airflow running through it. I'm in my case every other day roughly, so I'll probably notice if the fans stop running. Thanks a bunch ...
