I'm selling some HD321KJ's here: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=324840 don't mind shipping to wherever you are as long as you pay ;) - message me for a quote. I got a really nice price for some WD Caviar SE16 drives. According to the SPCR review, they'll pretty much at the top.

RAID 0 or NCQ?

I have two options for a relatively silent setup:
-a single WD5000KS (supports NCQ)
-two WD2500KSs (no NCQ) in RAID 0 on ICH7R

Which would you choose when speed and silence are important?

The most silent 320 - 400GB drive...

I can choose between
Samsung (HD401LJ)- only the 400GB model has 16MB cache - a bit pricey too
WD
Maxtor
Hitachi

The drive will be suspended.

Thanks

What speed approximately is a 12V 0,14A Fan

I'm replacing an old fan from a perfectly good PSU (it's even got a fan controller). The fan just got extremely loud. The fan is a power logic 0,14A fan. What kind of a fan would you replace it with (preferably as silent as possible)? The fan is 80mm. What I found on NB-UltraSilentFan series: 3200 r...

0) would you be willing to use shared computer resources? I.e. not fully own your own computer or at least not all the CPU cycles/storage/memory that you use. 1) Would you be willing to limit your computer use to X hours / week (on average) to limit it's energy use? No. 2) Would you be willing to li...

You might be able to get the cpu and vga fans to report correctly! In Speedfan, go to: configure > advanced... Then you'll have to find the chip that reports fan speed, normally it's the first listed. There should be an option for fan divisor. It is normally set to 8, but if you set it to 16 it sho...

My full config: Passive MSI 7900GT 1GB of GEIL Value RAM Asus P5W DH Nexus 120mm on the back, 80mm on the video card and 92mm at the front. NeoHE 430 PSU (comes with the P150) The Intel stock fan can't cool the CPU sufficiently without speedstep and C1E at this config. The fan at 100% is really loud...

Unfortunately the 80mm nexus and the stock IHS don't read the RPM at low PWM. Without SpeedFan this is quite loud, with SpeedFan the only thing that can be heard is the Maxtor disk spinning. http://www3.shrani.si/files/untitled953777.jpg http://www3.shrani.si/thumbs/p1011410953769.jpg http://www3.sh...

I am sorry, but a sensor that reads 20*C idle and 30*C for load of a Pentium D with an AC Freezer is incorrect. Actually the CPU temp in the BIOS is 26-30 C at idle. Before the Arctic Cooler I was getting 39-40 C at idle in Smart Fan in Windows and 50 C in the BIOS at idle. The BIOS reads 10 C high...

I want to get the MSI card to but without the extra fan (preferable).
I'll receive a 120mm fan in the following week.

I got the card 2 days ago.

I recently got the MSI Passive 7900GT. The cooler is relatively small. While installing windows the cooler got so hot I almost burned my fingers (there wasn't any exhaust or intake fan installed). I placed a 80mm right on top of the cooler and the card is now always between 50 and 56C. I plan to buy...

Looks fine. Passive motherboard, reasonable layout. Just make sure that you pick the 939 version of that processor. What have you settled on for the rest of your system? I'll upgrade the rest later. I just want to do some gaming during the next 2 month vacation. Just something: http://www.tomshardw...

Ok, I understand the Athlon 64 X2 is the way to go. I'll post in a few minutes with my new setup. About the 7600GT - yes asus makes them passively cooled, so does Gigabyte. Ok, my new list, is this ok?: GA-K8NXP-9 (nForce 4 Ultra) GB site can't find any friggin reviews on this, open for suggestions ...

http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/ I can't find an an8x. I don't want to get the P180, because there's so many horror stories here. For RAM, hm, does it matter? It's a lot of a hassle to get another brand for me. VGA: Get the fastest. Well, that'd be easy, but I don't know which one is the fastest...

Help me choose some components [mid-range; P150?; dual-core]

I'm about to upgrade my 3-year old Celeron ( :O ) system. I'll be using it for gaming and internet. I'm not really a graphics whore, so 40fps at 1024x768 is fine for me, while at 1280x1024 is a huge bonus. I'm thinking of having all the fans controled by SpeedFan, according to a Tom's Hardware revie...
