Antec Neo HE PSU Users Poll

Greetings everybody, It's about time to raise a hand after a long long time since you last heard of me. I won't waste your time explaining what took me so long to even get started with building my new computer, so I'll skip to my troubles and why am I being suspicious about Antec PSU. I bought my Ne...

mCubed BigNG really needed ?

I suppose it's rather obvious from my post that I was looking for an answer I already have, that is trying with pots first to see how it goes, for nobody can give me an answer here how loud or quiet will I find those fans at various settings and system loads. As for the mCubed, it's ranking No.1 on ...

mCubed BigNG really needed ?

Hello guys, Almost there, with a new build (seeing is believing) after umpteen months of window shopping, stalking good chances on eBay and educating myself about silent AND capable hand in hand, but now that I'm only short of pretty much non-essential extras, I've began to rationalize and skimp on ...

Intel SC5250 workstation case - rear or bottom fan PSU ?

This is it folks, No more headbanging with this power supply choices and philosophy about rear and bottom fans. Two straight-through contenders left, last moments for comments please; - Tagan TG380-U01; hopefully those dangerous are out of market already (burning fan post and Finish ban) - Zalman ZM...

Intel SC5250 workstation case - rear or bottom fan PSU ?

Good reasoning, I really needed to hear something like this in just a few sentences, for I have simply lost focus while wandering through a labirynth of posts and topics on SPCR. I've lost my interest in Antec Neo, being unable to get reasurance on web and SPCR forum that this issues really had been...

Intel SC5250 workstation case - rear or bottom fan PSU ?

Unfortunately, AM2 limits your heatsink choices a bit. No Ninja for AM2 yet. I'd say you still want a good, efficient cooler. The advantage is you can run your fan at a slower speed reducing noise. 1. A bit limited choice is understatement 2. You're right, I do want all of it in one package. They k...

Intel SC5250 workstation case - rear or bottom fan PSU ?

The Ninja is at the top of SPCRs recommended list. If you notice many of the top heatsinks are of similar design. The same goes for SeaSonic. The duct keeps the air heated by the CPU from being ingested into the PSU and causing its temp controlled fan to increase speed an noise. A tower heatsink is...

Intel SC5250 workstation case - rear or bottom fan PSU ?

Hello guys, few additional question marks surfaced in the last 24h. - Dual 90 deg oriented fans PSUs: with one of them facing rear, the other is supposed to...face up or down ? I've examined Enermax, Be-Quiet and a dozen others. The mounting screw threads at the back of these PSUs and those around m...

Intel SC5250 workstation case - rear or bottom fan PSU ?

I payed 17 GBP. It was 1 GBP till the last half hour. It was pure luck that no one who knows these cases and how expensive they are, was ambushing this one. As for the PSU, I'm sure that lots (if not vast majority) with similar tower cases and ingredients are happily using silent 120mm bottom fan PS...

Intel SC5250 workstation case - rear or bottom fan PSU ?

There are other heat producing sources (SB, HDD, VGA..) that exhaust fan is supposed to suck the air from and out. If I limit the airflow from heatsink towards exhaust outlet, wouldn't that prevent it to do a thorough job ? Perhaps I should pay a visit to user's gallery, because I don't have the pic...

Intel SC5250 workstation case - rear or bottom fan PSU ?

Hello everyone, It's getting kind of a bad habbit - third post, third case and shopping list, still no computer...I have to draw the line somewhere. So, from Antec solo already settled for, I've made another turn and (finally) bought this on eBay for peanuts (no PSU included): http://www.lemcomputer...
