Re: SilverStone Temjin TJ08-E: MicroATX Evolved
I just hope SPCR gets their hands on a Fractal Design Arc Mini case soon ... from the "outside" I like it better then Silverstone case but I would love to know how the Arc Mini performs. The Arc Midi gets quite good scores so I can only hope the Arc Mini perfroms similar .

Thank you for the feedback, without getting broke I could make the next changes, which should help a lot I think (concerning air-flow): Lian Li PC-7 SE Plus II Black (no PSU) Seasonic S12II 80Plus - 430 Watt PSU I would opt for a normal ATX motherboard, but then I need another GFX card. Thanks again.

I have 4 (2x 120mm and 2x 92mm) of those Arctic Cooling PWm enabled fans in my Antec SOLO case and I'm VERY happy with them. I manage them using Speedfan and keep them around 900rpm (SILENT :)). I keep my E6600 @ 3ghz under full load (24/7 of BOINC) at around 55 degrees celcius in a room with temps ...

Re: Possible to build silent gaming PC?
I would like to build a very quiet gaming PC for only $1800. That's $2200 here in Australia. I need the case, PSU and everything that goes in it. How quiet could it potentially be? I would like to use a 8800GTS. Thanks. That's pretty easy to do with today hardware choices I think. Get an Antec SOLO...

A E6420 @ E6600 speeds should be no problem what so ever (that's an increase of the FSB from 266 to 300) as long as you have a decent motherboard (Asus, Gigabyte) with a P965 chipset (probably a NV chipset will do, but I don't have experience there) and (A-brand like Corsair, G-Skill, ...) RAM quali...

If the Corsair's are to heavy for you look at the 430W model of Seasonic. I only have experience with Corsair PSU but I'm sure the Seasonic is quite and a good performer (see SPCR's reveiw). R. ps. I misread your post... you want heavier -- ignore this one  ps2. take a look here for lots of PS...

I have a Freezer Pro 7 on a E6600 which is running @ 3Ghz and the fan is running silently at around 1000rpm using speedfan. The CPU temp is somewhere between 35-55 depending on the load. So I can recommend this cooler. If you want to do more crazy OC then I would look for anynother cooler, eg. the S...

I find my E6600 to be a brilliant CPU for a quiet build, atleast when undervolted. My particular CPU is able to go down to 1.0V on default 2.4GHz. My estimates (calculations and measurements) put the CPU at around 35W at this voltage. I also happen to have a Ninja and from what I can tell, cooling ...

I have an Artic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 @ 1000RPM (using Speedfan so it's silent) and I'm a happy camper. My 6600 runs @ 3Ghz with temps somewhere between 35 and 50 degrees celcius. If you look at the recommended list of heatsinks there're better solutions (and more silent), but for the price you can'...

If you leave the diskcontroller on your motherboard to IDE, then things should be fine. I do think that SP2 will be required for a HD of that size, else Windows may not recongnize the full 320Gb (not sure about this). If I was you, I would slipstream at least SP2 and create a new bootable CD. I usua...

Re: Any Diff between Samsung Notebook Drives -- 40GB or 80GB
Looking to purchase the quietest drive for an HTPC in a living room. Don't need size, ... just enough to boot up mythtv frontend really. The recommendations around here seem to point to the 40GB notebook drive, but there appears to be quote a few released since then. Does anyone know if there is mu...

Send it back (RMA) they should be dead silent upto a load of 300W.
