It is a real shame that they not only refused to improve the mounting system, but they also made it unlikely to accept a feasible mounting solution. But I guess, if the argument can be made that the original RevA clips are better, then out of all three versions this would be the best; all ninjas can...

maybe asking if a certain GPu cooler is compatible with a certain video card would be better, IMHO Certainly agree, seeing as though dimensions can even change with brand. But just for a heads up, the 6800 mounting holes are the same at the 7*00, Hd 38*0, G92, and G94 dimensions. Of course you need...

I use the Micro Temp MT-100, and it too has a very short distance for achieving best readings. (Distance-to-Sight Ratio is 1:1) Basically the object must be an inch away to get the best reading. Odd that F.C. does not have a way to change the Temperature Degree reading. I know on my MT-100, there is...

all these people posting sub-30 temps for idle make me think you're using an outdated version of speedfan. download the newest beta of speedfan, retest, and let me know. cause if your temps really are that low, i need to take another look at my mounting... (42-44C idle, 60C load) Could also be just...

i like what u did with the cable hiding and opening up that HD area. out of curiousity, what cpu voltage did u need to hit 3.0ghz? (in bois and as read by cpu-z) In the Bios I have left it at the "default" setting, and with ORTHOS - Small FFT's CPU-Z reads 1.264 V. I can boot to the desktop running...

I have installed the 775 Kit for my dad's Silent Whisper, and it has the same plate height and size as the Ninja's. I did not have to use any washers of any sort, as there was no direct contact between the HSF and the motherboard. If you have AS5, then use it, because the paste that the Ninja arrive...

Heyo, I too am using the RevA Ninja with my e4300 running at 3GHz with stock voltage. It works quite well with a 800rpm scythe fan, and I know I can reach better temperatures when I lap the Base and IHS. Why not opt for the Accelero S1 instead? It is cheaper and with a nice fan, it will probably coo...

Quiet C2D in Old Case [56K Beware]
I finally have completed some modifications to the computer in order to achieve better temperatures to overclock my components. It first started off with a semi-passive setup, that only used the rear 120mm and PSU to give airflow. The results were exceptional both in performance and noise, but I kne...

better to attempt to recycle and re-use than to just toss the stuff in the landfill, eh? re-use, yes. there are plenty of old machines that could be given a new lease of life as Linux boxes or fileservers. however, it is most definitely better in landfill than being burnt in the open air or dumped ...

If you have space constraints underneath the video card, then might I suggest either this: http://www.overstockdealz.com/products.asp?id=VM-101R or http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/thv1ulvgaco.html These could run your card passively and still leave you with a working PCI slot below, I believe (no...

I too have closed corners on my Yate-Loons, but a dremel and some pliers took care of t...

I would recommend cutting out the fan grills, or just leaving them intact, incase you fear any outside intrusion (no point in cutting them out if you are going to install a grill/gaurd afterwards?) If those are rubber bands holding the fan in place atop the TRU120, I would suggest using the clips in...

I doubt it would function passively unless you only used it in 2D mode. I suggest strapping a fan directly to the heatsink and taking the shroud off. I would second this idea: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/bryan_d/IMG_4575.jpg You can run low-speed 80mms that work just as well as the stock ...

I currently use the KuFormula VF1, that does the job very well at high speed (very noisy), and at roughly 6ishV it is quieter than my Yate-loons but it does take a performance hit. I have just ordered the new Accelero S1, and will be installing it on my eVGA 7900GS this weekend. I will report back o...

Will it be an overkill to even consider a SI-97 on a R9700 pro? Or the heatsink is good enough to run the card fanless? With the 9700P and good case flow, I bet you could run it passive with teh SI-97, but I would not suggest overclocking. And to add, I would not suggest using thermal adhesive to s...

Re: Graphics card with CPU heatsink?
Surely you must be joking. I think you must be joking... Here is my GTO2 with a modded Xeon HSF: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/bryan_d/teaser.jpg Basically, the main thing you must do, is properly measure your mounting holes. When you have the measurements, you can then proceed to "dry" fit...
