The power supplies you chose are too powerful for your system I think. Some HX520 power supplies make these clicking noises when the load is very low. And it's quite common for a PSU to buzz slightly when the load is either very low or extremely high.

The motherboard is a good choice, but you have to ask yourself the question: "Do I need all the features this board provides?". If you are not using RAID, Wi-Fi, Dual LAN, etc you might be able to find a cheaper board. Every 975X or P965 board will do, speed differences are minimal. Skip the nVidia ...

I think I will use 2x Nexus 92mm then. The Scythe Kaze-Jyu seems the best fan that fits in front of the Solo (yes, I decided to drop the P150 and go for the Solo instead), but two Nexus fans will move more air than one Kaze-Jyu I guess. I will just undervolt them until they are inaudible. I hope thi...

Best 92mm fan?
I see so many reviews and round-ups of 120mm and 80mm fans on the internet, but it's harder to find 92mm fan information. It's understandable, 92mm fans are somewhat non-standard; 80mm and 120mm are used a lot more. So my question, what is the best 92mm fan available at the moment? Sound wise of cou...

Also, Madshrimps publishes measurements right down to their noise floor as if they are meaningful. So an HSF with a Papst 120mm fan at 100% (12V) measures 35dBA and the same HSF and fan measures 34dBA at 50% (6V). It's up to the reader to understand that the ambient noise level of 34dBA absolutely ...

the tuniq tower cools better @100% fan speed because of it's high fin density. For most SPCR readers 100% fan speed is not acceptable due to the noise! Thats where the ultra-120 and Scythe ninja make a come back. You can see that the Ninja @50% fan speed betters than Tuniq tower. Yeah, but the Paps...

I can see your point Mike, and it's good to be skeptical, but always keep an open mind, especially as a reviewer. I agree whole-heartedly with you, if you say that the airflow LOOKS bad, but is it bad in reality? We can only know for sure if it's tested. That's why I say, if you ever get the opportu...

Mike, you are right about the weird airflow, that held me back a bit in ordering it right away. But, I was thinking, what if I use the back fan as an outtake instead? That way the case has two 120mm fans intake, one 120mm outtake, one (optional) 80mm outtake and of course the PSU as an outtake. With...

I've read that review before, but somehow I didn't notice the chart with both the Thermalright Ultra-120 and the Tuniq Tower 120 in it. Thanks. Seems the Tuniq Tower 120 is the better cooler after all, just like I suspected. With the same fan (Papst 120mm @ 100%) it has the same noise level, but the...

You compared the two cases personally? Or you are just reading the reviews just like me? :) Reading the review, I see that the front is dampened by the door , the left and right side by two layers of aluminium and the back is dampened by an air-duct . Seeing that, I think that the dampening is ok. A...

Tuniq Tower 120
The Thermalright Ultra 120 is the best heatsink reviewed by SPCR, but from what I understand, they've never reviewed the Tuniq Tower 120. After reading so many reviews on the net, and countless user opinions, I came to the conclusion that this cooler is probably the best air cooler on the market rig...

Lian Li PC-S80
I am wondering if someone on this forum has this case? It is a Lian-Li case built with acoustics in mind and I am really curious how it performs sound wise. I've read some Antec P180 reviews and that case is not an option for me, I hate plastic. This seems like a nice alternative, but I am not sure....

If you guys are going to update the heatsink round-up, please make sure to add the Tuniq Tower 120 to the review. That heatsink is so popular, I am wondering how it performs sound wise. It is one of the best -if not THE best- air cooler out on the market right now. Another suggestion: Lian-Li PC-S80...

Is it just me or is that chart irrelevant? The Papst 4412/FGL has 400 rounds per minute more than the Noctua S12-1200 and the Noiseblocker SX2 Pro has 350 rounds per minute more. If we compare the Noctua S12-1200 to the Noctua S12-800 we can see that the Noctua scales well with higher RPM, the 1200 ...
