The Antec TriCool fans are just tolerable on low, blah on medium, and ridiculous on high. And even on low they provide terrible airflow. Highly recommended to use anything else like Scythe or whatever you can get there. The top fan is a 140mm fan and you can't change that easily. Check out SPCR's re...

The Sonata III is a fairly nice case, but it's got low airflow and is a pretty big pain in the butt to work in. I would lean towards a Mini P180 with relaxed fans since those components you chose don't generate that much heat indeed. As for PSU, the Antec green PSUs have small front fans so I'd actu...

Installed the card. Damn, the thing is loud. Under load it's actually okay, but it's idle that's killing me. Manual fan speed control = fail. I'll test the HR-03 on it eventually. I thought about doing it over the weekend, but the noise is killing me, so I might try tomorrow. Anything bigger/better...

The Nine Hundred will let you hear all the fan sound really well because of its very open design. The Solo is a really silence oriented case, and airflow isn't too bad if you put some nice 92mm fans in the front and leave enough room for air to flow around. The Solo is going to be the better choice ...

You're a star Fungi - great help and many thanks. Just to clarify, are you saying the processor on the card is set quite low on the PCB? And that as a result, the accelero sits lower and therefore closer to the motherboard? I have an Intel DP35DP and there are some caps and a small heatsink the sit...

The results are in and I'm impressed. After I put in the order for the S1 I realized that the S2 would have been a better match for the 4670, being smaller and all. Based on results, I'd say the S2 is more than adequate. First a word of warning, you have to slide the mounting bracket all the w...

I got the S1 and will be installing it tonight and posting some results. Looking forward to it. :) It looks like the inner holes of the S1 must be used (meaning rev 1 of the S1 will not fit). Could you confirm this? If that is the case I will have to sell my S1 rev 1 and get a rev 2. As posted earl...

I can see your point, but also note the low idle power consumption. And by budget conscious, I meant people who would rather save that $20-30 off a 3870. People who want a gaming card and don't mind playing cutting edge games on medium settings (while using low power outside gaming, for people witho...
