I am almost satisfied, still a bit of hard drive noise from my 250Gb WD's but it's gotten better after I moved of my RAID running 4 hard drives down to 2 hard drives. Running 5 fans in total (including PSU fan) and the only time I can hear the fans is when temps of the CPU goes over 65*C (fans spin ...

Parts that I'm pretty sure about: Case: Antec P182 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 All nice parts, should make for a very nice machine. Parts that seem nice but I'm really just guessing here: PSU: Seasonic S12-380 HSF: Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme Seasonic PSU's are ...

I'm not sure but I believe so, or at least that's what all information I have found on forums has said.

I DID IT! I finally made my machine silent enough at idle that I cannot hear it unless I really, really concentrate on it. I moved from 4x250Gb WD's to 2x250Gb WD's last night as the hard drives were too loud. They are still not totally silent but they get muffled by the case so I can barely h...

Incidently, how did you wire up the Nexus at 7v? Is it safe for the PSU? I did the 7v fan trick , I am running 3 computers all having at least 1 fan running like this and I have not had any problems with it. So, I think it is safe for the PSU. I think the general census is that it is safe but you d...

1) How is the noise from the 650W Seasonic? 2) How are the temps on your X1950's? 3) How do the X1950's perform in X-fire at 1920x1200? 4) Does Speedfan work with your mobo? 5) Are your HDD's really loud? 1. Well, I've been using my new monitor for a day or so now and I must say that it is a pleasure using my computer now. Can fit so many windows at one time that it is much easier to multitask now. Although flipping the monitor to portrait made me dizzy...(may have been all the beer I had though).

I have fiddled around a bit with fan setup and found the below setup working fairly good. http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/7/29/1306638/P7300328.JPG Nexus @ 12v keeps GPU temp at 65*C (ambient 20*C) during one iteration of 3DMark 2006 without crashing, not the greatest result but heck, it's reasona...

All tests were done by running 1 iteration of 3DMark 2006 (ambient temp around 18*C) Nexus @ 12v blowing straight onto the heatsink/VRMs: 45*C Nexus @ 12v seated in the front fan location of the P180B 61*C Nexus @ 7v seated in...

Powercolor X1950 Pro Extreme goes passive *PICS*

Hello, I bought this model of the X1950 Pro because it was equipped with the AC Accelero 2, which according to most reviews I read was reasonably quiet. Now, I must have gotten two bad samples or something 'cause the cooler was the loudest parts in my computer. So after a lot of research and measuri...

So it's all good and the folding goes on and on :P

I am running Windows, and yeah it is a beta so I'll keep folding and hopefully get some WU's completed. As I have seen others that have successfully done it.

Thanks.,

Hello,

Yes this OC is 24 hours Orthos stable, haven't had any stability issues at all, hovering around 55*C. My hard drives are healthy, have no issues with them and they pass all checks.

I'll check the forums for any known issues with the project that failed and see.

Thanks,

Hi, I'm a bit disappointed with the SMP client, this morning when I woke up I went to check if it had completed the WU it was working on when I went to bed (it was at ~80%), when I check FAHMon it had downloaded a new WU so I thought great, I'll check my stats, to my surprise they had not changed so...

Hi again,

I have a question about which client I should be using. I have a C2D 6400, I read somewhere that I should use the SMP client. Should I run that or the F@H Console, and also, should I run multiple copies of the SMP or the Console client?

Thanks

Hi Neil, There is a lot more to it, than the number of steps -- the complexity of the molecule and what it is doing at each step, all are different for each project. There are different cores, and many different projects. The points are awarded based on how a particular machine handles it -- and dif...

I just started folding using the FAH504-Console and it downloaded a WU of 1000000 steps, now I loaded this into FAHMon to monitor progress and it has a preferred deadline of September 2 with a credit of 230 (!!) points. Yea I noticed that, but I've been stuffing around with the GUI application and the SMP client.

Installed the SMP client last night (Brisbane, Australia) and it was sitting at around 90000 out of 500000 steps on Core1 and 50000 out of 500000 steps on Core2.

So we'll see what happens.
