The fan is a little discouraging. Besides the performance improvement, the silence of the SSD is - for me at least - a very big part of its apeal.

I am running two Seagate HDs in Scythe silent boxes. Both are still running smoothly after I guess about 6-7 months of daily use. I do not recall if the same warning are on those HDs though.

Both cases seem a bit overkill for a 1-HD system. Maybe it would be worth considering a smaller sized case. The Antec Solo for example is very popular at these forums.

My experience is that the rubber fan "rivets" do a much better job of isolating fan vibration.

I only tried with one type of washer/gasket though.

As for the rivets, I have not noticed much differnce from one make to another. I am currently using the ones that came with my Noctua fans.
