Help configuring my system
I'm trying to make my of as quiet as possible (aren't we all on here), and need some advice on fan configuration. I'm using a p180 which alone made things a lot quieter that I was happy, but now I want to go all out and have it as silent as possible. I have done the basic mods, taped up around the p...

Re: NAS that can be woken up/put back to sleep?
Get a synology NAS, I have one and they are brilliant! You can schedule it to turn off and back on for whenever you want. Mine turns off at 2 then comes back on at 8am. There's an app as well so you can quickly turn it off at any time. I haven't got around to setting up wake on LAN but its possible....

There the same size, but nice build.quest_for_silence wrote:Can you give back the PSU?preacher wrote:Any ideas?
Did yours fit in the psu cage ok? Mine is a fraction too small! Tried bending the lips outward but still won't go around!

Re: Gutted!! Need a rethink
Thanks for the replies, I have been reading the reviews and the Tj08e seemed to be flawed, I wondered if there was something more expensive and better? Don't mind a mid tower if there an option there! Will look into the Fractal as intend to use a DVD drive.
It's so frustrating!

Gutted!! Need a rethink
I'm a bit gutted! The last component I needed arrived today so I got the little one to bed then quite excitedly went to go build it. I had already installed the mobo, CPU, hardrives, dvd, sound card and just needed my just arrived psu to go in and wire it all up. Went to do it and my new Seasonic ...

Re: Advice on correct setup
When I was researching a new case this one is supposedly the smallest mid tower case and the best cooling solution when you don't use a graphics card. Part of me is tempted to sell it and go for a different case but spent too much on the upgrade it's going to have to wait a couple of months! The top...

Re: Advice on correct setup
Ok now I'm totally confused on what to do! Just to get things straight in my head, is the psu fan an intake? If so I guess I could leave the hard drive bay in place as this would shield the psu from its airflow. I cancelled my order as it hadn't been dispatched yet and ordered the x-660 for an extra...

Re: Advice on correct setup
Thanks, have added some acoustipack to my amazon wish list, going to see how loud it is before spending £60 on it (I will next payday). I'm thinking of moving my WD Green storage drive to a 5.5" bay with an adapter, then I can remove the HD cage and have the psu any way I want! With the case being q...

Advice on correct setup
I am just waiting for the final bit to come in my new build. I'm doing a powerful but silent pc for working on, no gaming so using onboard HD3000 graphics. Parts list: Lian Li A05FNB case Seasonic X-560 PSU AS Rock pro4 mATX mobo i5 2500k (won't be clocking it) i30 cooler 8gb gskill 1600MHz ram Crea...

Re: Will it fit??
Thanks for that, really informative. My big concern was if the small clearance would hinder the airflow but I have been reading some horror stories about the H60 so I'm ruling that out anyway. Completely new to over clocking (apart from blowing up an Athlon 2000XP), so will try keeping stock voltage...

Will it fit??
Hi, I'm upgrading to a Lian Li PC A05 FNB case, z77 mATX and a 2500k. I have ordered an arctic cooler i30 for the 2500k but a bit worried as the i30 is sealed at the sides and has a fan cowling to make the air flow come out the top of the fan. The case specs say the max sized CPU cooler is 4mm talle...

Re: recommend a cpu cooler
Thanks for the link. I went for an Arctic freezer i30 in the end. Not sure if it's going to fit in my case and if a mATX board can hold its weight, but if te stock fan is too loud will change it to a pen fan.

Hi, I am just buying the last part for a new build. I have downsized from my antic p180 case (just too big), and moved to an i5. Keeping a lot of my current bits. Need advice on what cpu cooler to get. i will be using it for work and play but stick to a console for any gaming so theres no graphics c...
