Thanks paulka! To me, your above post is worth more than the 2 cents you said... :) Your welcome. Keep me (us) posted on how it works out for you. [edit] I'll try to do a power measurement on my via C3 server this weekend. It is a long time ago since I actually measured it. (and I have frequency sc...

Why do you expect the VIA cpu to be not beefy enough? I have a gentoo linux (no GUI) server based on an 'ancient' VIA C3 @600MHz. It does, fileserver, webserver, printer server, music server, edonkey downloader, torrent downloader... And it is doing it 3 years non stop now, without complaining. (it ...

problem undervolting M2N-SLI with Athlon X2 5200+ [solved]

I solved it. Turns out I had to turn of CnQ in the bios. Now it works well. I can go as low as .8V (cpuz measures 0.720V) at a 5x multiplier. Hi, I have a problem undervolting my CPU from software. I know Cool 'n quiet does reduce the CPU clock multiplier from 13x to 5x in idle. This works correctly...

I was also surprised that the tri-cool didn't have a MB fan connector. It only has a MOLEX connector and the switch.
So no way to connect it too the MB and control and/or monitor the fan speed.

I replaced mine with a Nexus, which turned out much quieter and it MB controlled.

cheers,

Paul

I recommend to change to tri-cool case fan for a Nexus fan. it is much more quiet. I actually have an Antec Sonata Designer case, which is basically a SOLO with a PSU. rear-case fan - Nexus 120mm front intake - Nexus 92mm CPU - scythe ninja + with the supplied scythe 120 mm fan installed. all 3 fans...

build in progress Sonata Designer

It finally arrived! The components for my new shinny quiet system are here. No photos yet, but I intent to keep track of my building progress here. Current status is: system boot to bios setup. Unfortunately I can't get the system to boot from USB stick. Anyone any ideas on that? Component lis...

Thanks for the comments Protellect. Price difference with the 5600+ is too big for me at the moment (I am already slightly over budget) So I stick with the 5200+ I also order a scythe Ninja to replace the stock cooler. Actually I just ordered :D everything. So hopefully in a few days I can start bui...

Thanks for the comments!

I actualy prefer the rear fan on the PSU. I want to have the air duct to the front so it is even better for me.

And for the case in an actual setting. This must make my Mac minded wife, aprove on this new case. 8)

Cheers

Thanks for the replies. So all of you agree with me that this is basically a P150 case. (with some heavy blue paint  ) I guess they added the case to the Sonato series because also the SOLO in there. Since I want to silence my computer. (and my current case needs replacing) and I like this case...

Antec Sonata Designer case

Hi,

Has anyone experience with the new Antec Sonata Designer case?

Is it build identical to the P150 (and the SOLO), with just a touch of blue and a different PSU?

Thanks,

Paul
