P180 and CPU cooler type
I have a p180 (version 2) with an E6400 cpu (o/c'd from 2.13ghz to 3.2ghz)...I have been using a TT Typhoon cooler (fan is mounted facing toward the side of the case)...I have never gotten great cpu temps with this case (45C idle using EIST and C1E) but have only used the Typhoon up to this point......

Less heat with 9600gt vs. better performance with 8800gt...
The most important thing to know up front is I plan on getting an S1 no matter which card I get... Second thing to know is I don't game often but when I do game it is preferably at 1680x1050 and I don't like having to turn eye candy off... At the same time however, I own a P180 and strive to maintai...

You'll want to replace the Kama Bay fan anyway, so you're a little bit ahead if you already have a fan for it. So for me is the only advantage to the Kama Bay that there is a dust filter? How much dust actually goes in that high up on the case? I guess I'm wondering if it is worth ~$23 for a filter...

Kama Bay vs. setting 120mm fan on top of my dvd burner...
I have a YL sitting upright on top of my burner which sits in the bottom slot out of four in my P180b...is the main advantage of the Kama Bay just that it has a filter? I'm trying to figure out if it is worth ~$23 for the Kama Bay if I already have a YL fan I could use...

Question about Fan Mate 2...
Do they only work with fan headers that have adjustable speed available to them? My Abit mobo has two fan headers that can be controlled in the bios...the other two cannot...I have the FM2s attached to the two that cannot be adjusted in the bios and I can't get the speed of my YL fans to change...

Yeah, the kama bay has a proper dust filter... I opted to keep the fan in, dont really hear it anyway (it spins at like ~800rpm and is very quiet) Temps dropped significantly. Test run with all fans at 100% shows: System: 45C CPU: 27C Core0: 35C Core1: 33C Seagate 250GB1: 35C Seagate 250GB2: 37C Sa...

you don't need fan for Kama-Bay. Fanöess kamabay add's 50% more ventilation area, which is enough usually to drop temperatures 1-2 degree's. I haven't yet installed kama-bay on my P-182B yet, But I will do it soon. Then why use the kama bay at all? Just to keep the dust out? Why not just pull the ...

Well I ordered 4 medium speed YLs which I plan on undervolting one way or another...I'll probably get some of those Fan Mates as I don't plan on needing to adjust them very often...I only have the stock Antec Tricools to compare to so these should be an improvement... Btw, I have a molex to three pi...

D12SL-12 vs. D12SM-12
I have a p180b case and have been using my tricools on low but am not happy with my cpu/case temps...I want to replace these fans but cannot spend a lot so it seems the Yate Loons are my best bet...I don't want to add noise though but I'm not sure if the low speed YLs will improve my temps enough......

I have the p180 with revision 1.1...for kicks I put one of the tricools on low and placed it in the upper bay since my dvd burner was in the lowest of the four spots...it dropped my cpu temps 2-3C which is great...the amazing thing however is when I opened the front door of the case, within 3 minute...

Re: Antec P182 airflow mods that work...
[quote="dsjonz"]I went through the same exercise with my Antec P182 case as several of you have, including cutting away the middle front intake metal grille, and "thinning" with a dremel tool the plastic horizontal grille bars that severely restrict air flow through the middle front intake fan door....

Would low speed Yate Loons really be a noticable upgrade?
I'm not happy with my temps in my p180 rev1.1 and am wondering if the Yate Loons (D12SL-12) would help much versus the stock Tricools on low...I want to keep things as quiet as possible at the same time...the specs I am finding are: Tricools on low: 39cfm, 25dBa Yate Loons: 48cfm, 28dBa So the Yates...

I've tried two different Typhoons and you could see a little bit of light through both of them...at one point in the past I installed each and checked temps and they were about the same...I guess now I'm trying to figure out if it makes more sense to buy all of the sandpaper and lap it or just pay $...

1. I use the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme with a Scythe S-FLEX E fan. 2. Like you, I just have the rear exhaust enabled and the top exhaust open with no fan. I've been thinking about this for a while - about an hour or so (sad, eh?)... Focusing on your CPU temps: Old case: 5-6C better P180 with side off: 2C better It seems to me that unless your old case had some miracle airflow going on, the fact that it had better temps than the P180 with the side pan...

P180 v1.1: The front door
Should the vent on the left side that is attached to the door be flush against the case? Mine bows out in the middle and pushing on the bottom of the door creates a decent amount of movement...plus when pushing on the middle hinge it moves quite a bit too...is this what people mean by it having a fl...
