Thanks for the review. I have to say I'm slightly disappointed. After the GP, and given the non availability of the smaller capacity F1 drives, I was hoping this would be a clear winner for 7200 rpm drives. I am curious to see if the 2 platter drive performs better, because of the extra weight I won...

You didn't put a country in your profile, but if you're from the US of A, I was able to find Stretch Magic at Michael's, which is a chain craft type store.

How many platters?

What is a reliable way to find out how many platters a given hard drive is composed of? I'm looking for a single platter 2.5" drive, and it appears the most common density at that spec is 80 Gigs, but I see press about a 120 Gig from Samsung that was supposedly released in April. There's a 160 Gig f...

Wow, this is a great help! Thanks everyone. My concern is that with the computer I'm thinking of building that despite the fact that I will be building with all quiet components the additive noise of the fans would be great. I was hoping with some dampening materials on the case that it would reduce...

Dampening Materials?

So I did a little homework on dampening materials: Damptek is made primarily with EVA foam. Dynamat/eDeadv1 are butyl rubber. eDead Teklite is closed cell neoprene (weird...) Acoustipack is a polyurethane mixed cell. I was thinking that what I'd do is buy sheets of these materials from McMaster and ...

Sealing Your Case?

I was thinking about adding some sort of material to the frame/side doors of the case in order to try and seal it better; this would give better noise isolation and hopefully better airflow due to increased pressure, or at least in theory. I'm also thinking if I added fan and psu gaskets it would fu...

Nexus Caterpillar?

From the popular fan manufacturer:

Anyone give this a try? Really looks like it could be something to give the Solo a run for its money. I'd love to see a review.
