I had no issue with the corsair, plenty of length. And I am happy with the quiet operation of it as well. After this case got so quiet I ended up adding back in 2 120mm fans and putting a higher cfm fan on the cpu heatsink. All are ramped down silent under normal operation conditions, but the mother...

I notice you didn't stuff the 8600 back in there. Giving the G35 another shot, or just caught in the middle? FWIW I am fighting with my P5E-VM currently. Turns out when you go hdmi-hdmi with the intel chipset the LCD TV can get some obnoxious overscan. Unfortunately the standard tools don't work wit...

gotcha. I picked up a tv yesterday but am stuck running it over the vga until I pick up a hdmi-hdmi cable. At 1366x768 everything looks good to me. Granted I am coming off a 10+yr old tube tv, so anything is an improvement. I popped in final fantasy and was pretty stoked on the improvement.

Nice setup. What is with all the motherboards? Your local retailer must just love all of the returns and exchanges   What bothered you so much about the P5E-VM HDMI? Or was it that you just decided you wanted a stand alone graphics card? I just installed one this weekend and was impressed ...

Yep, the P180 and P182 deals have been insane. Mine was about that price including the shipping  The stock fans may be fine if your case is isolated from you. Personally my desk has a cutout that allows the fan noise to bounce off the wall and right at me. I removed the stock fans. Top and rear...

I control the fan with a motherboard header and the inline rheostat. Seems to be a good combination. GPU temperatures are still dropping as the TIM breaks in.

Finally quiet P182 build

:D :D :D I have been building and working on PC upgrades over the winter. At this point I am near to completion of my desktop machine. During this time I have been trying to balance between better than average cooling and lower than average noise. The P182 comes with 3 Antec tri-cool fans. Even at t...

Silencing my 8600GTS

Okay, picked up a MSI NX8600GTS-T2D256E-OC a couple of months back. Initially I am thinking it is a rocking little card for the price. After some tinkering with fans in my case I have been able to get my 3 120mm case fans and 120mm cpu fan just about silent. So now the card has become the loudest th...

Nice build and results. That 3GHz mark seems to be the sweet spot on these e2XXX chips. Higher creates a lot of heat for minimal results. Your temps look great though.

Bringing this one back. I have the same card. Pretty loud. My cpu and case fans are silent, so it is annoying. I just ordered up a zalman vga cooler VF900-CU There are a few people running this card that recommended that cooler for not only dropping the gpu temps, but also really reducing the noise....
