AC S1 rev.2
I am looking for a new quiet video card for light gaming. When I read thread here, a lot of people recommend buying a normal video card and replace the heatsink with aftermarket cooler like AC S1. However, when I check online, I can't find AC S1. anywhere in Canada. NCIX forum said the product is di...

Thanks very much. I would definitely prefer GTS 250 (especially the 1g version) over 9800gtx, both of them are still quite expensive though. The evga model is $135 on newegg, not including shipping and tax, I could almost get a 5770 for that. Also, I can't find Accelero S1 sold at anywhere. I don't ...

WTB: silent/quiet nvidia 9800gt(x), gts 250/9600gt etc.
I am looking for a silent or near silent nvidia card in Canada, prefer Gigabyte 9800gt silent cell, but can also consider a card with Acceloro S1 or similar quiet aftermarket cooler on it. Can also consider 9600gt or sth. better like 9800gtx(+).
PM me if you happened to have one.

Thanks very much, that is what I am worried about. I guess slipstream does not have the best QC. Btw, Just wondering how do you control S-Flex in variable speed, it is not PWM fan, by speedfan? or a fan controller? Scythe Slipstreams click. I think it's because they have sleeve bearings. I had two, ...

Speed fan error in controlling fan speed
Hi, My speedfan used to be fine automatically control CPU and exhaust fan speed according to CPU core temprature. However, one day, it shows some "collision" error during detection and can no longer automatically control the fan speed anymore. But if I manually adjust the speed, it sill works. Below...

Thanks for the explanations. So does that mean if I can avoid using the motherboard's fan control (In my case, Q-fan setting in the bios) , that will prolong the fan's "quiet" life span? If so, maybe next time I should just buy the fan with the right speed in terms of noise and just leave it at full...

Thanks very much for the quick reply. The CPU fan on the Xigmatech cooler use the 4-pin header, the exhaust fan which is connect to the "optional fan" on the MB uses 3-pin header. I'v tried speedfan and set it up. It works great first for months, then suddenly, it will show some detection error in t...

Asus Q-fan control problem
Hello, guys, For any one who is familiar with Asus MB Q-fan control, do you know how it works. Here is my problem, I am trying to enable bios Asus Q-fan control so that the fan can be quiet at idle and increase rpm on load. However, the problem is the fan seems to stay very low and never crank up ev...

Scythe fan "clicking" noise
I just noticed that my Scythe slipstream 1200 rpm fan some times make "clicking" noise that is very annoying. Sometimes using Speedfan to lower the RPM can solve the noise, but not always work. It happens more when I keep my PC on for a long time. Actually, I heard such noise when the fan is only ar...

Can confirm this, the medium feels much lounder than the 1200rpm slipstream How would the 1200 RPM slipstream at full speed compare to a tricool on the medium setting in terms of noise? Ive used both, and really i find the 1200rpm at full voltage is only a bit louder than the tri-cool on low , whils...

I notice that the SH slip stream model (1900rpm) working at 9v (1340rpm) at 26dBA is quieter than the M model (1200rpm) working at 12v (1200rpm) at 28dBA, is this likely a sample variation, or the nature of these fans? If so, maybe running SH model at 9v is a better idea if I can tolerate 26dBA. Tha...

slip stream compared to S-flex
Great, my Ninja comes with the slip stream 1200rpm fan, it does sound very quite. Is the rpm rating comparable to the fan tests using the old method? I want to see how the slip streams compared to S-flex at the same noise level. Thanks. Edit: Never mind, just saw you have mentioned that the rpm rati...

Great artical. Just wondering will the 120mm Scythe slip stream line be tested sometime? It seems to have quite good specifications and are popular in the forum.

Wow, thanks for the post, just saw Xigmatek appear's on Canada computers' website. It is currently OOS everywhere, but when they get some stock, I will try them. The reason I mention buying another quiet fan is because I read the reviews on SPCR's site mentioning replacing the stock fan with the ref...

That is a good advice, after reading all the reviews, the Xigmatek looks like a winner. However, Xigmatek is not available in Canada. The only thing close to Xigmatek that is available is OCZ vendetta 2. Anyway, the cheapest I can get for OCZ vendetta 2 is $50 include shipping, not a bad price but t...

Thanks, a stupid question, how do I set the fan at 7v? you could change your case fans from Antec Tri-Cools to Scythe SlipStreams or even S-Flex fans, both are great and easily undervolted. Nexus makes very good fans as well, but Noctua fans have a bit more personality than other fans in terms of no...

Thanks very much. I might consider order two slip stream fan. By the way, it does not make much difference in cooling when I am lying my on its side, so I guess that is how much I can get from my sample of Ninja Rev. B other than increasing case air flow. you could change your case fans from Antec T...

bolt-thru kit is a good idea, but I guess that will need to remove my motherboard from the case first. If I am going into this hassle, I would rather order an TRUE instead. I guess I'll leave it for now until I got some free time. I just feel the temperature is a bit too high for stock speed conside...

Is my temperature right?
I'v got my Scythe Ninia Rev. B installed a few days ago (with stock slip stream 120mm 1200rpm fan running at full speed, it runs at 1050rpm most of the time though) . I just run some prime95 small FFT test, so far after 1 hours of test, the 4 cores in Core temp reported so far (highest) as 68/68/61/...
