Re: WD Combining Green and Blue series drives

I will be grabbing a couple of WDEZRX Greens before they finally disappear altogether. WD Greens are well established so I get suspicious when WD say the new "Blue" family drives will be the same, for one thing the Blue drives are now cheaper and I think their quality will suffer as a consequence.

Samsung Spinpoint F1 Errors ?

HD Tune is showing a health warning on one of my drives a Samsung F1 320GB SATA II HD. The warning says there are 159 communication errors on the drive which may be caused by a faulty cable. I replaced the SATA data cable but still get the same warning. The drive is still under warranty with Samsung...

I've been googling all the usual suspects, (e-tailers in the UK) and can't find a single one that has the Samsung HD322HJ.

New Maxtor is too noisy

I just replaced a 6 year old Maxtor DiamondMax-9 80GB PATA HD. It gave me excellent service despite hundreds of formats and dropping it more than a few times, it ran constantly @ 29c temp, and was virtually silent because you could set "quiet mode operation" for this drive. So now I replace the old ...
