80mm Scythe Fan recommendtion
It's been a very long time since I've posted here, and I'm looking for some feedback on an 80mm fan for my HTPC. Currently I have an Antec NSK2480 case, Scythe Mini Ninja CPU cooler (with Scythe Minebea low speed fan), and 2 120mm Scythe 500RPM Slipstream fans. I've recently had some issues with my ...

Updated cooling results
IC, I retested after some burn-in time and the stock temperatures and OC idle were identical to my initial test, and the OC load dropped 1°C to 64°C. Please update your graph to be +0.5°C for me (average of the two load temperature). I think it's only fair to include all data, instead of just the...

ICD7 Testing
Be glad to test it vs. the AS5 and TX2 I normally use (and the ungodly number of OEM tubes I have that came with aftermarket coolers). Email sent.

Decision Made
I will be purchasing two Dynamat Extreme packs for covering the left, right, top and front of my Lian Li case. It should run ~50-60USD. Each sheet will be cut for the side with enough remainder (~450x310mm) to cover the top and front. I will post my thoughts when I am done. At this time I don't thin...

I would venture to say no 2-platter WD3200AAKSs are out on the shelves (or in the storehouses, as the case is). Be aware, though, that the 3200AAKS is not as fast as the 6400AAKS (I own 1 and 2 of these HDDs, respectively). I would say a 9600GT would be the way to go. It has 2 dual-link DVI connecti...

AcoustiPack, Asaka, or Dynamat?
Hi, I was wondering what the consensus is on acoustic dampening in cases. I have a Lian Li PC-7 case with 6 fans (2x120mm Scythe SS 800, 1x120mm Scythe SS 1900, Zalman VF700 GPU cooler, 1x120mm Scythe SS 1200 - on Ninja, and a 2000?rpm Scythe 80mm). All the fans are on the lowest setting using 2 Sil...

I understand what he was saying, that Channel Well is not a well-known RETAIL brand, but is a very respected OEM for other retail names (TT, Cheiftec, XClio, etc). To a person outside the enthusiast community 'Channel Well' means virtually nothing since they are mostly OEM. This news is quite exciti...

Sorry for the double post, but I don't think it's worth it to buy a new S939 motherboard, aside from the fact you probably have more adjustability with your current one (under-clocking/volting). I'd stick with all your current hardware and throw it in a Silverstone LC17 or Lian Li C30/C32. As for co...

I'm not sure why you'd replace an HX520, being as it's famously quiet (albeit slightly long-in-the-tooth in that department). I'd suggest replacing the factory fan with a Scythe SFlex/SlipStream if the fan is noisy now (bearings failing). As for cases I personally like: Antec NSK2480 (I own one and ...

The Scythe Mini Ninja will fit in almost every case (so long as it has full-sized expansion slots, even the very small Antec NSK2480). The Ninja or Mini Ninja would be good for passive cooling. Also look into the Infinity, TRU, TRUE, S1283 or S963 and a low-speed fan (800 rpm for 120mm, or 1500-2000...

New Scythe S-Flex 1900
Scythe just came out with a new S-Flex to match the RPMs of the highest CFM SlipStream fan. Check it out: http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/002/sflex_detail.html I wonder when we'll get a review of this badboy? Got any samples MikeC? This could be an excellent choice for semi-quiet-ish ultra hig...

Ah, I see. How will you make the penetration for the microphone cord into the chamber for doing recordings? Just curious. I was under the impression that the recording computer would have to reside IN the chamber so that there would be no penetrations into the chamber. I guess that makes a big diffe...

That sounds very exciting. If I lived in your state (or country for that matter) I'd offer you a weekend of service.
