This is indirect support to the 5750 over the 9800GT. For my HTPC-enclosed PC used by one of my kids, I had put the MSI custom-cooler 9800GT in there. For intense gaming, it shut down the PC as my case with slow fans couldn't get rid of the heat generated. I switched to the 4770 (not 5750, but both ...

I lost my sound when I installed my HD 5 series, but in my case it was because I used the HDMI, and so I had to go disable the sound that the 5 series cards can put out. But if you are using a standard VGA out, it shouldn't be that, but I mention that possibility just in case. You can go to disable ...

If you are going from an XP build to a Win7 build, then I think going with the WD Black for the main driver is fast enough in terms of OS boot. I was also originally planning to use SSD for my OS once prices fell a bit more, but now that find that Win7 boots up so much faster than XP, I have held of...

Re: pretty good
What about sound difference between green and blue? I'm thinking of a similar build with 2 WD green in raid 1 for storage and a blue for main drive. Or should go for a black? I had both a WD green and black in my i7 860 setup inside the Fortress 2: the Green was pretty much inaudible inside the cas...

Oh, there's as March 15 combined review of PCS+ 5850/5870 in hardocp (I am not allowed to post URLs) showing that at idle at least they seem to share similar noise. I recall an article on both VaporX too (but not both at same time) that compared dbs, but forgot which site it was, they had also done ...

While you seem to have already decided on Lian-Li (and I love the look of their cases too and that a few have USB 3.0!), thought i'd put a word in for the FT-02. I have 4 desktops at home now, and the FT-02 is my favorite. I had always tried to get the mid-tower or HTPC designs b/c I prefer the look...

This is off some, but I have a Powercolor PCS+ 5850, so it's a different cooler and weaker card. At idle it also (acc to GPU-Z) runs at 21%, but the stated fan speed is ~2100, surprisingly high. My case and CPU fans are all undervolted in my Fortress2 and so run between 700 and 900. I find I can't h...
