Re: Bay Trail Gigabyte BRIX
I have since set up an Intel DN2820FYKH NUC in a similar fashion...running Openelec over wireless this time, for my bedroom. This unit is a bit faster (N2820 vs N2807), but lacks quicksync technology. Performance wise, I see no real difference between the two, as I personally expected. In testing, e...

Re: Bay Trail Gigabyte BRIX
The only temperature monitoring I have really done with it lies within the Openelec OS. Sitting in my office under a shelf (only a couple inches of top clearance) and building the XBMC database (using the dual core CPU about 75% consistently for a couple of hours, multiple rebuilds) I watched the te...

Re: Bay Trail Gigabyte BRIX
I just set one of these up. AWESOME box for streaming local content. I simply put in a small SSD, 4 GB RAM, and installed Openelec. I now have a silent, no moving parts media player that absolutely destroys my old Boxee Box in every way. I am really surprised at what a 'puny' Celeron can do for HD p...

FS: Great custom built HTPC - mount on your monitor or TV!
I've finally decided to part ways with the HTPC I have evolved over the past few months. I've taken great care to develop a fairly low power, QUIET system that meets all the needs of any HTPC user, and very likely meets most all day to day needs for typical home users - save maybe some heavy gamers....

Olympus E510 Kit
This isn't exactly SPCR fare normally, but I think highly of the posters here and though maybe someone shares one of my outside interests: Photography. I've got a very-nearly-brand-new Olympus E-510 SLR Digital camera. I bought the 2 lense kit, so it includes the 14-42mm and 40-150mm lenses (and of ...

I'd be interested
I've got a couple passive NVidea cards if your interested. I've got a Gigabyte GV-NX85T256H GeForce 8500 GT or a Gigabyte GV-NX86S256H GeForce 8600 GTS (both 256mb PCIe x16), if your interested in a silent VC + cash deal.
The cards are bare, but I can scrounge up adapters and drivers easily enough.
