i actually find it quite good. it quieted my seagate 160gb idle whine down a whole lot. (cheaper than upgrading and then I have the quiet drive for the future).

but i had to mount it on foam. I hardmounted it, and it was annoying. But I mounted it on foam and it's great.

Hello. Indeed you have a tricky situation. I recommend the scythe quiet drive first. It quieted my Seagate 160gb 7200.9. Down to really noise levels quieter than the WD Caviar Blue 640gb (Which is supposed to be a much queiter drive, and faster drive and it is, Just not with one drive in the quiet d...

Many p180 users don't even use the top exhaust, but block it off.

I however use a 500rpm slipstream. In each of the exhaust locations.

I'm not certain about the prices in finland though, but i believe in the states the slipstream is cheaper.

well what you could have done is ordered it. Then gone to westerndigital.com and checked the serial number and see how long the warranty was left via the warranty checker. And if it wasn't under warranty then return it to newegg being the slight chance that it wasnt. but you got a hard drive so all ...

the p182 and kama bay dont really require mods. It can if you do it the way shown somewhere in the forums.

You can just use the rails and get a screw it in. Slide it in. Thats what I did. I'll show you a picture if i get unlazy

did you try turning off your monitor and see if your the hum still occured.

That's what I had to do, at certain brightness levels my monitor has a hum. Not sure if this is the correct hum tho.
