Thanks very much, your replies convinced me that my boards probably support AHCI so I looked through their BIOS's again and found it under RAID settings (I hadn't thought to look there). It was set to IDE.

I'll try the guide you linked to, thanks again.

eSATA hot-swappable?

I can't seem to get a straight answer on this so I hope it's okay to ask here: I have an Antec MX-1 external enclosure (with eSATA) and this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136075 hard drive. Invariably, I cannot get the drive to show up through eSATA unless the enclosure i...

I used to own an Eclipse II, and the backlight doesn't "leak" out of the sides as implied; those are two entirely separate light sources that Saitek put there intentionally, presumably to create a "glow" effect on the surrounding desk space.

Just wanted to share what I've done with my P180 mini regarding the 20cm ceiling exhaust: http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5811/p180minico1.jpg On top, I've removed the entire plastic "racing stripes" frame, cut an appropriate sized hole in the mesh, and removed the x-shaped backplate for the 20cm...

Very nice, I like the image on your choice of cardboard. Have any of your other temps been affected now that the hot air from your GPU is being pushed up into your case in the opposite direction of its (the case's) airflow? By the way, I received my Scythe drive enclosure and it's exactly as you sai...

Thanks for the information. I ordered the same enclosure for my WD Scorpio recently, but was less than optimistic about being able to use it long term. Mine is at 33C idle right now, my room temperature is 26C. Granted, it has little to no airflow, so I may need to add a low RPM fan. Still better th...

Very nice system, and impressive temperatures considering the mostly passive interior. How hot is your 2.5" drive in the Scythe enclosure getting? Also, it is in the direct airflow path of a fan? It's hard to tell which is which in the picture.
