Re: 900€/$ Ultra Silent 21:9 UHD Build

What if I was to say you are incorrect, where does that put us? Who has real life experience with these PSU's? I have an R5, been using Seasonic (first S12-430 and now M12II-620) for as long as I can remember and probably have the same GPU cooling as the OP, what is your experience with this hardwar...

Re: 900€/$ Ultra Silent 21:9 UHD Build

I suggest higher wattage on the PSU, you will barely make it if you upgrade (overclock) in the future. Much more probably that not, he won't ever need more power , not even by mistake. I also suggest going Seasonic, my current M12II-640W and previous S12-430W are dead silent (idle/load) and these a...

Re: 900€/$ Ultra Silent 21:9 UHD Build

Planning to build this, PSU and GPU should be silent in idle and yet potent enough for gaming without risking a housefire. Will this work? Does someone has something similar? Re: Fractal Design R5 build

For the very simple reason that I retained those from my previous system. Have you measured a difference? I have about the same build, just with the stock fans and fanless Seasonic Platinum, 970 Gaming from MSI and i5 instead of i7. Do the case fans run more silent when plugged in the mobo instead ...

R5 case extra intake fan front, bottom or side?

Hi guys, Got a Fractal Design R5 case a week ago to replace my old Antec SLK3000B and very happy with it. Silent and lots of space to mod (cable management, removable cages, etc....) If I was to add another intake fan where would I best put it in my situation? I always had a silent system but not th...

Re: Fractal Design R5 build

Another Belgian here with a new R5 case which replaced an old Antec SLK3000B. As mentioned this case is dead silent with fans running on low and this time I didn't even had to bother suspending the drives. The case construction, padding and drive placement (bottom instead of top before) are probably...

Re: GSOD, PSU or GFX issue?

I'm happy to inform you guys that it was the GPU BIOS at fault here and an unofficial update solved the issues.

Thanks for your support and take care all.

Will do lads. I have tried this is the past but had other issues with this (no GSODs though)
Maybe my BIOS wasn't set up right for the onboard so I'll try again after testing the new VGA BIOS for a few days.

Thanks!

Re: GSOD, PSU or GFX issue?

I have been running a 5750 + 2500k on a 350w Seasonic PSU, including overclocking the 5750. Every issue I've ever had was because of inadequate cooling of the GPU. The moment I bumped my case fans up, the issues usually disappeared. Try cleaning the dust out of your case, or temporarily put a fan c...

Re: GSOD, PSU or GFX issue?

It sounds like a GPU issue to me. Your power supply should be able to handle that system without any problems. Then again, it is getting quite old... Also, the 5770 shouldn't draw so much current that it needs to be separated on different rails. I would try replacing the vid card first. Alright wil...

Re: Still have to decide and I can't 550D/R3/Antec Solo

Hi guys, I'm also deciding between the 550D/R3/R4(not available)/P280 I currently use an old Antec SLK3000B which is getting tight to fit my new hardware and isn't helping with keeping things cool. First I'll tell you my specs (recently upgraded) Antec SLK3000B Gigabyte Z77-DS3H i5 2500K (stock) wit...

Hmm, have I been fiddling around for proper CPU cooling for nothing? Temps from my Q6600 G0 with TJmax 100: idle: 43 / 43 / 39 / 40 TJmax 90 (according to Intel specs) idle: 33 / 33 /29 / 30 Load temps will barely touch 55-60° whereas with TJmax 100 its 60-70 If TJmax is 90 then the Ninja is indeed...

Hi m8, I have already cut out the front and back fan grills from the case. Undervolting is not an option since I'm already running on the lowest stable voltage for my overclock which is V1.26875 (BIOS lists V1.28750 as normal voltage) I think I will pass on the ducting and focus on re-seating or re-...

One more thing lads, since the RAM blocks the ideal fan postion could this affect temps? The fan is moved towards the side panel. 30 mins of HDR demo and these are my temps. I've also put the Scythe 120mm fan on the Accelero to 7V instead of 5V. This shaves off a good 10° Max temps from Real Temp 3...

Improving Q6600/Ninja temp

Hi all, I hope you guys can help me with this. I'll ask the question first and then post my PC specs. I'm trying to cool down the Q6600 because it still loads up to 70 (idle 38-43) with an ambient temp of 21° and I'm looking at ambient temps of >30 in a few months. The Quad is overclocked to 3Ghz b...

I'm running the following system with a Seasonic S12-430W: - Q6600 (G0) @ 3Gh...

The Scythe Ninja stock fan does 49.58 CFM at 1200rpm.

The Scythe Slipstream fan does 40.17 CFM at 800rpm.

If I'm running the Ninja fan at 7v what do you think the airflow would be compared to the slipstream?

I'm also running this papst 4412 F/2GLL as front intake at 7v (41.1 CFM @ 12v)

Another question.

I've been looking at this Antec 300 case which has the PSU in the bottom and a 140mm top exhaust fan.

How much would a top fan affect temps with my case? This would be a center top fan 120mm.
