This is my 1st PC build.
I'm trying to install 3 Noctua NF-A14 case fans into Fractal R4 case. However, I'm completely confused on which screws to use:
1) Rubber screws that came with the fan
2) Metal screws that came with the fan
3) Metal screws that came with the Fractal R4

Steps to building a PC
I finally got all of my components today for my 1st PC build. However, I was wondering if someone could recommend either a video or their own opinion on where to start with the installation? Here are my components: HARDWARE Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl w/ USB 3.0 ATX Mid Tower Silent P...

Re: Case Fans - Fractal R4
Thanks, makes sense to me. I'm going with three Noctua FLX fans. I don't have a lot of money so hopefully ASUS software can get them to a relatively quiet level.

Re: Case Fans - Fractal R4
Thanks for all the help so far. So, is there any benefit for me to be able to individually control the case fans? I mean, I would think the two front intake and rear outtake should always be running at whatever speed, in unison? If that's the case, then a splitter connected to CPU_FAN would be the b...

Re: Case Fans - Fractal R4
Thanks for the information. So, I have three options from everything I've read. However, which option should I pick? I've never messed with fan settings before and this is my 1st PC build. I'm having a hard time even understanding all the technical jargon I've been reading. I've heard there can be i...

Case Fans - Fractal R4
I'm building my first PC ever and I'm confused with some issues regarding case fans. I want to replace the 2 stock fans that come with the Fractal R4 case with Noctua NF-A14 fans. However, I have some questions: 1) My plan is to put 2 in the front as intake and one in the back as exhaust. Is this an...

Re: Which Seasonic PSU to buy?
Would the Seasonic SS-660XP2 be enough wattage for the system rig I posted earlier? Would it be running around 40-60% maximum efficiency? I'm looking at grabbing the 660 tonight if I'm 100% sure the 660 can handle my components and I have room to spare.

Re: Which Seasonic PSU to buy?
Crud, I waited to buy it now and I don't see any sales. If anyone knows of anything, please give me a heads up. I'm leaning towards the 760 at the moment in case I want to utilize SLI in the future.

750 watt power supply
I was looking at the new Corsair RM750 and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it? Here's my setup (only reason getting 750 instead of 650 is it's only $10 more): HARDWARE CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Gr...

Re: Which Seasonic PSU to buy?
Thanks for the advice. Regarding the GPU, I've already bought it so I'm not returning it.
I'll just go with the 760 and perhaps check out the new RM Corsair line.

Which Seasonic PSU to buy?
I have all of the components I need for my first ever PC build. However, I still can’t figure out which PSU to buy. I’ve decided that I want to get a Seasonic platinum series because I’ve heard that they are quite (no coil whine) and they have a good warranty. I’m choosing between either of these tw...

Re: Fractal R4 or other case?
Did you make the fan in the back an exhaust? Also, do you leave the top vents closed? Yes, the third fan is for exhaust. It ships with one intake in the front and an exhaust one in the back. I use both of the supplied fans in the front for intake. I do keep the top and sides closed. It's quieter. I...

Re: Fractal R4 or other case?
I didn't think the fan controller was a big deal until I had it. Runs @ 5, 7 and 12 volts. I hate the stupid molex connector the controller uses. Since I ran a cable all the way up to the optical drive, I just got a molex to SATA adapter and avoided running a separate molex cable altogether. I have...

Fractal R4 or other case?
Hello, I’m working on my 1st PC build, with very limited technical knowledge. The case that I’m strongly considering buying is the Fractal R4. The minimalistic look of the case really appealed to me. However, I want to make sure that I don’t overlook a case that may fit my needs. Noise, Cooling, and...

Re: Corsair or Seasonic PSU
Other comments: Your chosen Gfx card and the WD Black will be noisy. Sabertooth mobo is mostly hype. The Crucial M4 is nice but for $10 more you can get the Samsung 840 Pro...or you can wait for when either goes on sale. I've already bought the products listed months ago so I'm not returning them. ...

Re: Corsair or Seasonic PSU
Here's my list of components. Sorry I forgot to post them. Although, I don't see how a smaller PSU will be more efficient. I've never heard of Kingwin, but from what I've read thus far they don't seem to be very good. I suppose, at least Seasonic and Corsair have good return policies if I have to RM...

I've spent my entire day off trying to get the penultimate part for my 1st PC build. However, I'm still confused. OK, so the AX760i model came out and users are complaining of fan noise (see here): http://www.overclock.net/t/1323913/cl-corsair-launches-the-ax860i-ax760i-ax860-ax760-80-plus-platinum-psus/100 Now, I'm back to being unsure of which PSU to buy. Mats, can you tell which sound bar model you got? I'm looking at the AX510.

Re: Case Recommendation
The parts I listed, I've already bought. I don't have very much technical knowledge on what I'm doing so I'm trying to use process of elimination to whittle my choices down. With the motherboard that I bought (Sabertooth Z77), would I be able to use USB 3.0 ports that are on the front of some cases?...

Features such as noise reduction, removable storage de...

Re: 650 or 750 watt semi-modular PSU
I know that I won't use anywhere near 650 watts, much less 750 watts, but from all the reviews I've read, the Corsair HX/AX 750 and 850 watt PSU are of better quality and are quieter than the 650 models.
I was thinking of going with the HX750 because of the connections. Any thoughts?

650 or 750 watt semi-modular PSU
I need a 650 watt or 750 watt PSU, which must be semi-modular. I was going to get the new Corsair AX750 until I read several reviews here and on Amazon about noise issues. 1) Would a 650 watt PSU leave me room for expanding to SLI? 2) Can someone please recommend a brand/model? Here is a list of the...
