Only two sticks of ram?

In the article SPCR's 2010 CPU Heatsink Test Platform you specify that there are only two sticks of ram used in i7-965 "2GB QiMonda DDR3 memory. 2 x 1GB DDR3-1066". Is this a mistake or intentional? Sadly to my eye's this card looks like more favouring the aesthetics than good engineering. Few simple thoughts: Why is the fins directed to two differend directions in right-angle? Doesn't it impede the incoming (or outgoing) airflow unnecessarily. Fins that are attached to heatpipes are too close ...
